Like most things, I've had to learn the hard way...get the belt size right!!! Now I made the belt to the size I was asked...but what I didn't know was that they gave me their pants size...jeans, in these cases.....these jeans could have been 5 years old for all I know....and us guys know how jeans tend to stretch along with our girth.... It's happened to me twice in the past year...I spend a lot of time making a belt, I'm pretty happy with the outcome, and it's too small...even tho I've made it to the correct size that was ordered. Hate the feeling!!! Lesson learned....ask for the waist measurement, NOT the pants size.

Hi, these are the pictures of the articles that a leather artisan from Buenos Aires, Argentina, makes. He's the father of a very good friend of mine and I thought you'd like to see his work. He started designing and creating things with leather since 1950. He is now 75 years old and, with his wife, he is still making leather handcrafts with the same old tools, but improving his technique, style and tidiness. Not sure if you call it a shooters bag or hunter's bag. Oh well, it's a bag. It's 9"x8"x3". Not sure what I'll do with it but it was fun to make and another learning process. My stitching and lacing still need alot of work. All things in time. Tom

Just finished these two belts for our local craft Co-Op. Both patterns were made by the same stamp used differently. This stamp came with some Saddlers tools which belonged to a Saddler who came from England over 100 years ago. The stamp is an Osborne one. Can anyone date it for me? I believe it was used on the winkers of bridles.

Starting with the first one I did (when the kits first came out a couple years back), progressing to a 6oz one I just finished today. This particular stamp, which always makes me think of thatching, is so "forgiving". The stain on it is Tandy's saddle tan antique (liquid). The "M" flask, I think is Fiebing's buckskin, and the other two are mahogany antique. I really liked the Celtic pattern that came with the 6oz. kit; but it had a big space for an initial, and I'm making these to sell at my fair booth...so no knowing what to put on for that...

Hi there, This was a barrel of laughs to make especially since pirates and leather just go together...not to mention rum. So it's a garter worn on your thigh that holds a hipflask. What the photo doesn't show is the pocket behind that holds a hipflask. I tried my best not to spend too long working on it whilst still doing a quality job but in the end I would have made it for $3 an hour. I usually charge more I think I misjudged fiddling time- the time spent just working out what shape to make it. Oh well, wont quit the day job just yet lucky for me it's all just for fun. Still learning so any pointers welcome. AAAAHHHG!(pirate noise)

I finished my first wallet and first item I've made in leather for that matter. I am new to leatherworking, I bought a leathercraft kit from Tandy's about a month ago and this is the wallet that came with the kit. Thanks for looking - Let me know what you think.
