Any particular reason why you're selling after one use? Not up to snuff?

Correct, but the store wanted to argue that and throw poor customer service my way. Corporate was great, customer services at the stores is horrendous.

I will add that BG is currently out of stock on the 12-Ton. I only know because I reached out myself 4 weeks ago and they do not know when it will be back in stock. Thankfully they had a prototype version in the warehouse that they discounted me on. Also, the 12-ton is advertised as 8 tons when utilizing the shorter handle, 12 tons with the longer handle. Does this mean you can slap a longer handle on a Weaver 8-Ton and achieve 12 tons? I don't know myself, but very well may be the case.

UPDATE: After multiple calls this morning between corporate Tandy and my local Tandy branch, I WILL NOT be moving forward with the Tandy purchase nor will I EVER purchase from Tandy. Absolutely atrocious customer service experience with the local branch, tried to charge me freight even though they have the item in the store and on-hand. Rep got rude on the phone when I stated that I just spoke with corporate and they said that is false. Corporate is supposed to be getting with the local branch to work this out, but I'm DONE. My experience with the branch rep on the phone was enough for me, matches the rest of their reviews and YouTube videos. Melanie with corporate has been phenomenal when it comes to resolving this issue, I'll give Melanie the shoutout she deserves for her level of customer service, but the local Tandy's behavior was ridiculous.

I am not a fan of the Weaver 4-Ton. I'm not knocking the machine nor have I tried one, but just from face value alone, it does little for me in terms of costing $1800. Tack on taxes and freight and it just does not have any bells and whistles to run $2200+. The Tandy just went on sale today and I can pick it up from my local Tandy dealer to deter freight cost so I will be going that route.

I'm getting ready to buy a small clicker and have narrowed down my interest to either the Tandy 5-Ton or Dream Factory 5-Ton. Has anyone tried either? Tandy https://tandyleather.com/products/tandypro-r-clicker-press?variant=42729329983619&country=US¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA2JG9BhAuEiwAH_zf3jhx123qNycZlXQJXeBqQTtwp-1Etd-p70XEwPz3rbHDxoHtzTU1RBoCcyQQAvD_BwE Dream Factory https://www.dreamfactorytools.com/products/clicker-press-hand-clicker The Tandy is 128lbs. The DreamFactory is 66lbs and claims to require no lubrication via grease, yet has a grease zerk on the back of it. Anyone forsee potential issues with the aluminum construction of the DreamFactory or it's engineered obsolescence of lubrication(except the swivel pivot)? I wonder how that design holds up in terms of longevity. What about the air assist lift on the Tandy, would this not pose more resistance during articulation of the press?

@WanaGo did you ever hear from them or get your money back? I should have used PayPal too.

Bobbin Shim for #280/#300 Needles
AaronStand replied to AaronStand's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
@councilman24 thank you, I shot them an email and got an order in for a handful. I will give this a shot first. -
Previous owner purchased the machine new. Also includes extra dogs. DM if interested.

Machine is in great used condition. Previous owner stated it was purchased as a backup and used very little. Only indicators of use are a few nicks at the flatbed lip where hardware was probably attached to material being passed under. Table is also in great condition, there are a few areas that have been rubbed against and a few splits in the material around the table. Table and hardware are very rigid, much more than newer tables today. Currently setup on a 1/4" guage and also includes a 3/8" guage set which is another $500 value. Includes 9 bobbins, original owner's manuals, original cloth cover for machine head, and a few other miscellaneous things. Asking $4,500 firm, located in Sacramento, CA. Local pickup or machine can be shipped/moved via UShip, but buyer must coordinate that. Additional pics too large to upload, DM me.

Barely used Consew 733R-5 Extra Heavy Duty Single Needle Walking Foot Sewing Machine with Table. Sewing machine retails for over $8,294+ new. Comes with table (30"x59") which retails $300+ new. Purchased by Oakland Children's Hospital and looks to have never been used or if it was, maybe a few times. Not a scratch, nick, ding, or mark on the machine. No missing parts, in one pic you will see the top missing from an oil cup, but I have since replaced with a new one. You could really sell this machine as new it's so pristine. Extra presser links and feet to go with it. $4,900 firm. Located in Sacramento, CA. Local pickup or can be shipped/moved via UShip, but buyer will need to coordinate that. Selling as I just bought a 243 flatbed and this is overkill for my work and the table is quite large to fit in my small space. Additional pics too large to upload, DM me.

Well, after a quick Google search on them and no confirmation email, do not order from them. Appears to be a bait/scam site.

@Wizcrafts aren't there even more differences between the 370 and 374 cylinder heads? I thought I read that the 374 does not have the moving binder access like the 370 does?
-
@WanaGo I just ordered 3 cans(had to meet their minimum order requirements) so we'll see what comes of it. As of yet, I have not even received an order confirmation email. I suspect this may be a sham.
-
Does anyone know what differences to expect from the 204-374 and 204-370? On the hunt for a 204-370 flatbed, but have come across a 374.

@shoepatcher thank you for the advice, I knew this would take some finessing and creativity to get right.

Yup, looks like Consew/Seiko class 7 and similar are now 1000 or 1000H.

Anyone have experience doing a 794 needle conversion on the class 7? I found this thread that walks through the steps, but I'm confused as to how Jadu actually modified the press bar lift link? I purchased two spare lift links from Jacksew to modify, but in Jadu's photo the modified and stock lift links look the same to me.... https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/94377-singer-class-7-33-leather-sewing-which-needle/

Does anyone know if distance rings need to be added in addition to the shuttle shim when going up in needle size on the 205? I thought I read a thread awhile back about it, but can't seem to find it now and I'm about to do the switch. If it matters, size 280(28) needles.
-
Found it, it does have the hole I just overlooked it thinking it was for the thread stand. I went ahead and ordered a generic wood one, I didn't know if these were specific to the brand/model but in the end its just a damn head prop lol. Thanks all

So I just received my new to me Seiko JW-28BL-30 from the east coast and super happy with the machine. When they were unloading it one of the guys handed me this piece, but didn't know where from the machine it came. I emailed the seller and they said it is used to hold the machine head in place while tilted up and that the piece was in place during transit and must have snapped at some point. I've pulled the prints for the machine and I can't find a part number anywhere nor have I been able to find it through generic Google searches. Can someone confirm that yes this is stored under the machine head? All the seller said is that it goes in a hole on "the right side of the table" but I can't find a spot and he stopped responding so I'm just assuming it's under the machine head. Anyone know the correct name for this piece or even know a part # or where one can be purchased? This is all I've been able to find and even this goes to a different machine model, does anyone know if the piece from this kit is the same for the JW-28? https://www.ebay.com/itm/123834702280?_skw=seiko+repair+kit&itmmeta=01JH3H3SSJ1H6XQRA78M6VN8NX&hash=item1cd51f99c8:g:xigAAOSwMrxfclO~&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKn0xbftrXj9Thn8%2FPaxLpEuqSo15IzfrxpfrnAERSNb0kH%2Fa80mC4SHSsn%2BH2E7OAogIOZxEsYOEFFD2na749%2BdJ4MMFAmbF4Cd%2FhIwC%2FgZiaQEtKGVp6qeadDsfQH2Q1QpgOcIFqrKfq6AiT91knaohzmobXh7uOgWlTMAKfdE008wD2vBeTA0vIL6BX9dQq%2FyLDo5vLZRuT18qx5%2FAMrJnWS7Q8nO5pjh1tM9SkKmq5ZyH6zTwHN3%2Fyho8kDHMTMteDvzK2Hqa%2BNwsWnQTDsmt6Fjgo5%2FJ1RVBXm6dEBq2g%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_6cj_GIZQ

Happy holidays all. Sorry if this information is readily available, but Google didn't turn out much after a quick search. Does anyone know exactly what's different on the Consew 733R series between the 2, 3, 4, 5, and now 6? I'm assuming it could be a wide spectrum, anything different or modified would change the series. Hoping someone just happens to know off the top of their head.

Scratch that, looks like the problem may have already been solved. If I end up picking up the machine, I am definitely going to give this a whirl and see if 794s can be adapted on the 733R.
