I'm not familiar with that machine, but I would think that there is some kind of relief valve involved somewhere. Perhaps it can be adjusted or replaced with something else. You could also just put some kind of stops at each corner so that it just cant go any farther than you need.

I was the equalavant to a DI in the Navy, my ONLY job in evenings (while everyone else cleaned barraks) was to polish my boots. I once got my a** chewed out for helping with the cleaning. It's been over 35 years since I did it, but I seem to remember water, rubbing alcohol and boot polish. Also very risky(if you burned the boot you were in big dudu) hold boot over a lighter flame to melt the mess. I don't remember what cloth I used, but it was probably something supplied by the chief. Believe it or not his boots were not creased from walking and had the shine of patent leather. He also wore custom made uniforms. I was very impressed by the custom made camel hair great coat. I learned a great deal from that man.

It's what I do for a living, Company info at Choice Carrier Truck at top of that page is mine. I'll be in CA in about 8 days. Dick -
I'm far from an expert, but I would think that the cylinder would have to be pretty large to get the job done with air.

How Do You Photograph Belts And Guitar Straps?
somewhereinusa replied to UKRay's topic in Leather Photography
I think your question is how to photograph something long and still show detail. This is how I handled the last one, but it relys on photoshop proficiency or some other photo program. This was actually taken laying on a blanket that I changed to a different background. If I remember correctly the lighting for this was just all of the lights I could turn on in the living room. I've also been playing with placing item on a turntable, taking a number of shots and making that into an animated gif. -
Does anyone know where I can get these? I found some in Europe, but not in US.

Some time ago there was a thread about long cutting surfaces. I've searched everything I can think of and am not having any luck. Can someone direct me to that thread or discuss what you are using for a long cutting surface. 6 to 8 feet? Thanks, Dick

Does anyone have one of these for Toro? Do you like it and is it hard to use?Do you remove presser feet? I'm assuming you have to hand feed?

I grew up in the auto business, then Navy, came back and opened up an import car business that grew into a complete auto machine shop. Got an offer to work in a auto restoration shop I couldn't turn down and sold my shop. That was a rich guy's hobby that closed after 3 years. Trained stockdogs for 10 years, mostly Border Collies. Now I drive cross country trucking I also have an event photo business specializing in stockdogs. Just getting started in leather.

When you're done with the sharp end you need to dress the top too. Put a nice bevel around the top. Those mushroomends can break off and put an eye out.
