LOL...

When we adjust the chain, it rides quite a bit higher than "between the thighs." in fact, most people I know adjust it to be about one hands-width below the kilt belt [which is at the waistline].

And that ^^ sporran is called a "full mask" which is typically worn at very formal functions.

Very nice. As an avid shooter though, I [myself] prefer a more form-fitting mag carrier but by the looks of it, I assume it's a 'general/one size fits most' type of carrier. If that's the case then it's executed in a most excellent manner.

Ok...Possibles pouch is done but not quite dried. The leather has been oiled with the Tandy Leather Dr. Jackson's Hide Rejuvenator found here:

and when that dries/cures [about 3 days] I'll coat it with beeswax and heat it into the leather for waterproofing.

I'm fairly impressed with how it turned out. The round ball pouch [with 20 projectiles in it], a brass 4F [flash pan] powder dispenser and antler powder measure fit perfectly - and there's plenty of room for that small, #6 shot flask I've started.

OK....this merge thing is annoying......

So then I was looking at my 'possibles' bag. It's pretty old and beat up but I was also thinking..."this is way too big for what I take hunting"....so....I made one in a similar pattern, just smaller. Now it's the size of a common belt pouch and entire project is made from the same 3-4oz textured goat hide as I did the flintlock wraps. The button is made from whitetail antler. I'm not quite finished with it, I still have to hand sew the top of the front flap onto it and add the belt loops onto some brass "D" rings I have. The loops will be similar in nature to a "dangler" and ride a bit low off the belt line [where I like it]. I'll be waterproofing it with beeswax, heat-absorbed into the leather..

...and finally, one of two leather "Flasks" that are supposed to hold cold beverages...however...these are intended to hold shot. This one is "small" and going to be used for #6 shot and the other [not yet started] will simply be a larger version to hold "BB" shot. I'm using a pencil to hold the mouth open and my next thing to do is soak the flask and fill it with corn to shape the bottle. I have some spent .38 Spl. cases I might use as mouth spouts...not sure if I'm going to use them though....

Most "instructables" tell us to use sand to shape/stretch the bottle but if I use that, I'll never get every single grain of it out. Using corn to pack in the bottle will let me get all of it out....lol.

I also failed to get a picture of an antler powder measure I made. It holds 60 gr of 3F and will double as a shot measure for the rifle [use equal measures of powder and shot....60 gr of powder, 60 gr of shot].

I love how the oil dye gives the "marbled" look......because you can apply the dye in thicker coats at different spots to give it that "un-uniform" and "well used" look. I'm a huge fan of that personally LOL

So I was remembering how uncomfortable it is to shoot my Hawken .50 cal because the comb of the stock doesn't give me a good cheek weld. When I sight down the barrel, my eye is in a plane lower than that of the sight line [about equal to the breech plug, in fact] so I made this to raise the comb of the cheek about 7/8" . it's awesome and about the 'perfect' height.

I used 3-4oz veg tanned/textured goat skin as the base layer and cut a rectangular window out of the top. That window rides the comb and then spreads down the cheeks of the stock. Then I took a sheet of 1/4" packing foam and cut it to fit inside that window [times 2 sheets glued together, so about 1/2" thick total], less 1/16" the dimension of the hole and covered that in garment grade/unfinished goat skin [about 1-2oz] hide. I stitched that in place using the waxed "sinew" from Tandy. I then took 6-7oz veg tanned and made "snap straps" at the front and back of the cover and stitched those in place. Then I made lace from the 3-4 oz 'textured' goat skin to sew it up on the bottom of the stock. There is a 3-4oz "strap" that wraps around the brass buttplate and is stitched in place...but I forgot to get a pic of it [sorry ]. The entire thing is stained "Dark Brown" using Fiebings Oil Dye:
