  1. I use a Tippman Aerostitch and a Consew.
  2. Hey David, I have been out of the loop for quite a while. My wife has been dying of cancer for the past 4 years. She did pass on last September and that is when I got out of the loop. I have been dating a wonderful lady I have known for a while and now we are planning to be married in May. I am very busy with a lot of things right now and will get back to leather when the dust settles a little.

  3. Thanks for the comment - I do like to make things last.
  4. Did you get the message I sent about the straps? What kind of bag are you working on now?

  5. Trying to find more time to build up some inventory for a show on the 12th.

  6. Thank you! I know exactly what you are talking about when you say the apple cover flips over and props up. I did not want to try to duplicate that just yet although I plan to eventually.
  7. Thank you! I wouldn't mind having an IPad myself. My brother-in-law asked me to make one to match the computer bag he bought from me. The belt I posted earlier yesterday was for him also.
  8. Hey David, those are so cool! Nice work on the soles.
  9. I used chrome tanned outer with veg tanned liner to give it some stiffness.
  10. Thank you! Here is a tip: It is best to start with a strip of leather that is wider than what you want, then trim it down close to the edge. I am not so good at sewing very close to the edge.
  11. The belt is made up of two strips of leather glued and then sewn together. The webbing is in between the two pieces of leather to strengthen the belt and to keep it from stretching.
  12. This belt has webbing reinforcement in the middle of two pieces of 5/6 oz leather. It has double stitching all around and goes from one inch in the center to three quarters of an inch at the ends.
  13. Very Nice! Missed you the last few weeks at Tandy on Saturday. (I haven't been there.)
  14. Thank you! Yes it is my design. My favorite part of leatherworking is creating new things. You would need a way to interchange the holsters if you have more than one size handgun.
  15. Yep. You were there when I got it. I bought another one just like it. It is enough to make two such bags per hide. Thank you very much!
  16. Thank you! I really like the leather on this one too. I have another one cut out and ready to start with the same leather.
  17. This satchel has a back pocket that hides a gusseted compartment with a button-in handgun holster.
  18. I have a Tippmann Aerostitch (cylinder bed) that I have modified to be a standing machine. I use it to sew heavier satchels. I also have a Consew (flat bed) that I use for medium to lighter work that is sit down only. I couldn't sew standing if it was for 8 hours.
  19. Thanks for the suggestion. I have read his post and it has proven very beneficial in helping me progress in the craft. It is suggestions like yours that make me take a second, objective look at a piece and make it better. When I pull up the photos on my own post, I can see even greater detail than in person. I agree with you that to make this project complete, I need to do a little more burnishing and coating to the edges.
  20. These smaller items include a pouch or man-bag, a wallet, and some glasses cases.
