  1. What is the weight?
  2. Can you post a picture of the wool felt washers on the bolt. Can it be rigged up on something to fit a drimmel?
  3. Left Toe Presser Foot for Cobra Class 3 or 4. I would like to trade for a right toe presser foot or sell. Brand new never used.
  4. Has anyone had experience with Fiebing's Hi-Liter? I do not like using the antique paste. What kind of high light affect do you get? Do you put it on after the dye? Do yo use a resist?
  5. What color dye did you use?
  6. Thanks, I will try it.
  7. I have had a cobra for just a few months. I like it but I am having a tension problem today. I am trying to sew two layers of 2oz leather. I know this is pushing the lower limits. I am using a 22 needle and 138 thread. The bobbin is installed properly. I have watched the Al Bane video on tension. I am still getting a knot on top sporadically. My test pieces work fine but when I start on my project I will a few good stitches and the 4 or 5 with the knot on top then it goes back to good stitches again. The test pieces and the project at the same leather. The tension adjustment is almost all the way out. Any suggestions.
  8. I may have posted this in the wrong forum at first. I am re-posting here to see if I get a response. I am getting more request for casual belts not made from veg tan or bridle. I am worried that the oil from the latigo will rub off on the cloths. I am looking for a leather that is rugged looking, 9oz or better. What do other people use?

  10. Thanks, tightening the upper tension did it. I was adjusting them both at the same time.
  11. I have a class 3 machine and love it. I am new at this and have not changed any settings since I bought the machine. I changed from 207 thread with a 23 needle to 138 thread to a 22 needle. At first the knots were showing at the top and the bottom looked good. I adjusted the tension like the book said. Now the top looks good and the knots are showing on the bottom. Any suggestions, I am afraid to change too much.
  12. The strip came from the back. The dye does stay in the same container all the time. I shake it a little before I dip but I haven't paid much attention to making sure it mixed well. I will try that and see. THanks.
  13. I am dip dying using Friebings oil dye cut with denatured alcohol. What am I doing wrong to get the vertical streaks and dark spots. I have not had this problem before?
  14. I want to make a book/Bible cover. I have never sewn a zipper before. Is there a tutorial some where? What type, size, quality zipper do you use?
  15. That is an old equitation style seat. Back in the day it was used for Western Pleasure, Equitation and other show events. It pushes you back on your pockets. Modern saddles have the low part of the seat in the center of the saddle to match the horse's center of balance. This is not a bad saddle though. If you feel like you are sitting a little far back, a saddle maker can pull up the seat and cut away the rise in the front fairly easily. A good saddle maker can move the center of balance farther forward. I remember these saddles from the late 70 and 80s. They are made pretty well and that one looks like it is in good shape.
  16. I like seeing these old pictures. I hope more people who them will post them.
  17. Looking for a basic bench skiver like the Weaver Heritage.
  18. Looking for a FNS 9mm, M&P 9 full size blue gun.
  19. I rubbed it with a leather conditioner called Black Rock. You have to be careful not to put to much. I always used it to condition boots and saddles and it weathers well. So far so good. Then film has not come back.
  20. I think I found it. Black Rock seems to have solved the problem?
  21. I am just learning to use this sewing machine. I am getting presser foot marks on my belts. The presser foot does not adjust. Is there a way to eliminate the marks?
  22. It does rub off and looks good but then it comes back again with in a few days. I have not seen it before either.
