The only difference is that the PPK/S is made of stainless. No differnce in shape or size.

Really like this Caiman Pancake for the Ruger LC9. Got a 1 1/2 inch punch from Tandy today so that should help with the slots in the future. Used a Black Friday coupon so it was 1/2 price. This is a IWB for the Glock 26/27. Really just an attempt at inlay. Made from two layers of 4/5 oz glued together. Really to thick for an IWB. And the inlay pulled away by the trigger guard when i wet moled. But it was really just tryin another inlay. This is a really cool way to make the pancake holster. Made from layers of thin horsehide that I had layin around.. Really to thick to make like a regular pancake. I wet molded it but decided to not put in any fine molding because its really thick and stiff. This pattern is a little large for the Glock 26/27 so I will adjust it in the future. Just showin some stuff I made lately. Feel free to comment . Hope everyone had a good holiday. CJ

Briefcase / Belt Combo Set
cjcinin317 replied to hidepounder's topic in Satchels, Luggage and Briefcases
Amazing. Just stunning. -
Never suggested "junk" thread. The post says a good thread. Just meant people buy holsters for design, molding to the gun, dye, finish, edges and the name stamped on them. Not the directional twist of the thread its sewn with. Though having worked with the general public for many years I'm sure there's a guy out that that only will buy a holster sewn with a tan linen 6 cord with a right hand twist. The post was just an opinion. Best wishes CJ

New To Me Tippman Boss
cjcinin317 replied to cjcinin317's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I'm sure your gonna love it. Just follow the advice given on this site about the Boss's use. The biggest thing I have noticed is to always run a test piece though before you start. Always! Got half way down one side of a belt before I noticed the bottom stitch wasn't pulling through. Had just finished a holster before I started the belt and it looked great. Had to pull the belt stitching out make a slight adjustment and start over. Enjoy your Boss CJ -
Iwb Spacer Help.
cjcinin317 replied to cjcinin317's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks. Was searching for rubber or plastic. Not sure why leather didn't occur to me. Thanks agian CJ -
What are others using as a spacer on their IWB holster? I have been using some rubber grommets but cant find them now. Should have bought more. Anyway was wondering if there was a sight to order something in small amounts but cant really find anything. Checked McMaster-Carr and did a search but no luck. So I really was just wandering what others use and were you get them. I know Milt Sparks use a thick hard rubber spacer but nothing that thick in any search i made. Really dont want something super thick. 1/8 to 3/16th I think. This picture show what I'm talking about. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks CJ

New To Me Tippman Boss
cjcinin317 replied to cjcinin317's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks so much for the thoughtful post. Really appreciate it. Will definately keep these points in mind. It had a lot of dust in it when I got it. Dissasembled it, cleaned and lubed. Seems to have almost no wear but I can see where the Zinc parts could fail. I live in Indiana so Tippmann is not to far away should parts be needed. I will get some screws to have on hand too. The post on this sight by folks such as yourself really helped in set up. Thanks agian CJ -

Want To Make My Own Holster And Belt
cjcinin317 replied to Kcinnick's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Another advantage of a machine is when using a new pattern, which are not always perfect the first time. You have 15-25 min sewing time in it instead of 3-5 hours. Most of the time you won't know the stitch line is off or you need more room for belt slots or whatever till it's made the first time. Probably my favorite thing about my Boss. C.J. -
Want To Make My Own Holster And Belt
cjcinin317 replied to Kcinnick's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Leatherworking is just a hobby for me. I do sell thing occasionally but mostly just for fun. I did sell enough to pay for a used Boss on eBay. So you can make back some of you expense. Compared to what friend spend on golf, its really nothing. It's very rewarding and it's always cool to learn a new skill. Just keep checkin out this sight. And not just the holster area. The other areas have amazing work in them. Go for it and have fun. C.J. -
Some Recent Work
cjcinin317 replied to particle's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I'vebeen making some Ruger LC9 IWB holsters with the inside left natural and having the same problem. I started putting a piece of Saran wrap over the sweat shield while molding. Just the safety and slide release where leaving the marks. Solved the problem while still leaving the rest of the gun exposed for molding. Amazing work by the way. C.J. -
1911 Iwb Tried Some New Stuff.
cjcinin317 replied to cjcinin317's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Two 1/4 inch wide strips of 7/8 oz leather. Long enough to go from the top of the ejection port of the gun to about 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the bottom of the holster. -
Finished this today. Probably should have stopped half way though. The pattern was way too big. The stitching is way off on the trigger side of the gun. The stiching on the front reinforcement is off. This design has a lot of stitching for doing by hand. But the sewin in sight rails came out awesome. Will be using them agian for sure. Also got a !/2 ton press for attaching snaps. Driilled to accecpt the die and it took two seconds to attach them and they work perfect. Never happened using the Tandy die set. Surprising enough the holster works pretty well. Pulls the butt in tight and is real secure. But to big and way too many flaws. The sight rails are very cool and easy to do. Highly recomend the arbor press for snaps. Sets em perfect at a fraction of the cost of the profesional setters. Plus many other uses.

cjcinin317 replied to cjcinin317's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I will give that a try. It's not bad but could be a little better. For the money and what I'm using it for it works really well. Thanks for the tip. C.J.
