  1. If you have a table saw, radial arm saw, or miter saw, you can get a triple-chip blade for it. The triple chip makes nice smooth cuts in plexiglass as long as it is sharp and you run it slowly through the blade. regular table saw blades will tear out the bottom of the edge and make it pretty ugly. Another neat trick with clear plexi is that you can run a propane torch lightly on the cut edge to turn it from milky white to clear. It also evens out some of the machining marks from the saw.
  2. I added the strap today and it absolutely did the trick, the drill doesn't even shift around. next step is to finish, I'm trying to make vinegaroon..... we'll see how well that turns out in a week or two. Thanks for looking. =)
  3. Well Rayban you called it, the drill does want to roll backwards towards the battery without the strap. although I did wear it all day today without incident. Definitely gonna add the strap, and another layer at the belt slots. Haaha, Probably fit one with a scope AND a tactical flashlight. =P
  4. Thank you. It does seem to balance pretty well just wearing it around the house, but I am always climbing ladders and moving around so the added safety of a strap should keep accidents from happening. I'd hate to have the drill fall out and break, or worse hit someone on the head from 16 feet up.
  5. This is just a simple holster for my impact drill. Nothing too fancy for a first project. I started with making a cardboard template. I cut the hide a little bigger than the template, next time I'll make it a little longer where it wraps around the drill. (if I ever need another one) Stitching it up in the pony. The thread kept looping around the wing nut so I taped it up. And here it is so far, stitched and trimmed. I still need to add a retention strap. My plan is to finish with just resolene. If this holster works for me I'll make another and actually try dying it. I'll post a reply when it is completed in a few days.
