Torch & Tool Pancake
EvadCarpenter replied to EvadCarpenter's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thank you for the kind words, and thank you for your service. You have my attention! Sorry the title was misleading, wasn't trying to fool you into looking. -
Just finished this for myself, It is a modified 1911 pattern mag pouch. (Thanks again for the pattern jls) I got the interior stitch lines a little closer than I should have, but it does retain well.

Just wanted to thank you for the patterns JLS... I used the mag pouch as a multitool pouch.

Found this; http://www.whitechapel-ltd.com/product/besc/192ECU5.html It's called an escutcheon, but it is huge! Further googling might find better choices.

Thank you Jim.

Thanks Chris.

Thanks Oldtoolsniper, I've never turned a pen but I do other turning for sure. The finish is teak oil and I have since lacquered the copper to keep oxidation down.

Made this for the spare curved awl blade I had. It is walnut with poplar and bloodwood inlay in a celtic knot pattern. The ferrule is a copper pipe cap, that polished up nicely.

Nice work shooter! -
I'd be glad to, but I just kinda ad libbed the design from the book "the art of hand sewing leather" by Al Stohlman. The only difference being that the base is welded steel box tube. I cannot recommend that book enough, it has helped me immeasurably.

Nice find! I always am on the lookout for any leather tools and equipment when I hit the antique stores, and have only seen one stitching horse. It was left outside for years and un-salveagable, so I just made one. Is there any indication of who made it or when it was made?

Great guide, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks Reaper, I hope to put it through it's paces during the holiday. Mike, I was extra sneaky and hid the spring under the movable jaw. (close up pic)

Cordless Drill Holster
EvadCarpenter replied to EvadCarpenter's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I just wanted to say that I'm totally fascinated with vinegaroon, It almost makes me look like I know what I am doing. You have all taught me so much here at this forum and I truly am grateful. =) Here's how my holster turned out. -
There are tons of those coroplast election signs in my neighborhood right now. Usually it takes the candidates quite a while after the election to remove these. I'm sure that they won't miss one or two signs after the election is over. More to the point, coroplast is quite rigid and it is waterproof. Just my .02¢
