Another Shoulder Holster
mntnbkr1968 replied to Haystacker's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Very Nice! I've got a customized Ruger security six that has a bobbed hammer. That style would be perfect. Excellent work -
My next project will probably be a flap holster for my Ruger Mark II. Great gun for a walk in the woods, but as many of you know, this thing has a razor-sharp trench cutter for a front sight! Referenced with my Colt Huntsman below... So after peeking inside some mass produced holsters I get the idea, but what is the best way to do a stitched channel @ home? TYIA (again) Monty

Got Another One Done!

Love the holster Mike. That is a pretty slick design! And I agree of course, about trigger coverage. I would never carry with an exposed trigger. I am a firm believer in the 1911 platform. But Murphy is always present. However, just had to try one of this style. Very sleek and clean design IMO. @ Rayban... I see what you mean. I'll modify my future patterns to eliminate that kind of gap.. That's why I love having other peoples input. Someone always sees something that I've missed and will make my next one better! Monty -
I really love this classic style of holster. And I certainly feel more comfortable with geometric designs like basketweave over carving ( I love carving but hey I'm just not good at it yet) I feel my stitching is improving and someday I hope my edges do to! Any tips from the masters here is always appreciated. Monty

Very , very classy!! Monty -
So my next holster is going to be a classic Tom Threepersons for my friends 60th b-day. He has a Remington Rand that needs some bbq leather. My question is this... How does this holster ride? I've never worn one and they "look" like they make the gun feel butt heavy. Do any of you have pics of the back of the holster on a belt (or a person) so I can see how this rides? He is a short cowboy and I want to make this hang on his belt nicely for his stature. He's only gonna be 60 once tyia Monty

Well I joined the forum a few weeks ago. I've read a lot here and finally finished my first holster. It's not perfect but I'm pretty happy with it. One question... It seems a bit loose, not bad, is there a good way to snug it up a bit for better retention? Thanks in advance for the advice. Monty

Well there ya go... For some reason Firefox is having problems but IE and Chrome are fine. I looked all over Firefox support site and found nothing to address the problem so I guess out the window it goes!!! Thanks for the advise, now I can see all the purdy stuff here!! thanks again Monty

Ok maybe this is a noob question but here goes.... Why can't I view a larger image when I click a thumbnail? Nothing happens, nada, zip, zero. Can't right-click and get the normal options pull down either. I am a forum junkie (sorry it took me so long to get here) and this doesn't happen on any of the others I belong to.. So what, very obvious, thing am I forgetting or overlooking here? please tell me, please, please tyia Monty
