  1. Thanks for explaining. Now I understand. I need to try this sometime and se which one I like best! And don't be sorry to point things out for me, I like lerning new stuff. Sometimes I think to much about the construction that I miss one obvious solution /Tommy
  2. If you look at my picture you can see that there are more fabric layers if you count one card pocket at a time, which means it's thicker at the bottom of each card pocket than if you compare to cutting out single rectangles. If my picture is not the way you do it i'm sorry for missunderstanding /Tommy
  3. Doing like that will make the lining to thick with 8 card pockets. Atleast with the fabric i,m using because if I understand you correctly this will add one extra layer of fabrics to each card slot.
  4. I cut out 8 rectangular pieces from thin fabric and glue them behind the card pockets. This way a pocket is formed and the cards wont slip down. I made a quick picture in paint. Maybe it's better than my explanation or maybe it just confuses things /Tommy
  5. Thanks all! The tooled part is 1.2 mm (3oz?) the interior is 1 m.m goatskin (2 1/2 oz?) /Tommy
  6. Hi! I just finished this one. I made the background stamp myself from a steel rod (my first own stamp). I also made the box for the wallet with my logo on. /Tommy
  7. Tina: First i put a coat of super sheen on the flowers. Then I used Eco-flow antique tan over the whole thing.
  8. Thanks for all the kind words! LNLeather: Yes, I drew the floral design myself. Anacott Steel: To bend the edges on the side panels I first did a V-groove around the edge. Then I skived the leather to about 1/2 of the thickness of the leather on the outside of the V-groove. Then I added some water with a sponge on the V-groove, and finally folded the edges 90 degrees. Maybe the picture below helps. /Tommy

  16. I used gold leaf(brass) and not paint. And yes, it will crack a little bit when it's being used, but not so much I think. Below are the steps I used to prevent it from cracking and oxidizing (since I used brass and not gold it will oxidize) aswell as giving it an antique look. 1. Applied the brass 2. Waited 48 hours and then applied something here in Sweden called "Zaponlack", it's used to prevent metals from oxidizing. I guess almost any top coat that prevents metals from oxidizing will do. But I have noticed that if you apply this before 48 hours the top coat itself will crack the gold. 3. Waited 1 hour for the "Zaponlack" to dry completely and thenapplied antique 4. And finally i used super sheen to seal the antique. Kind regards Tommy
  17. Hi! This is a wallet I made. I have tried gilding before but it has alwayes turned out to glossy. But this time I applied som antique on the gilded areas and I think it turned out nice.
  18. Hi! This was the first time I tried to make a wallet with this type of construction. I had some problems coming up with how I should make the gussets but I think they look good enough. Overall I'm pleased with the wallet and I will probably do more of the same kind in the future. Any critique is welcome. Kind regards Tommy
