  1. thanks alot, im not real happy with my boning work but this was my first try at it.
  2. hey yall this is my my best work so far. horse butt body with elephant overlay. i messed up the dang belt slot and my edges are not perfect but i am proud of this one. please let me know what yall think of it, good and bad. i want to say thanks again for all the help and inspiration from members of this forum. i wish i woulda found it long ago. TRAE also, the belt loop on the back shoulda been closer to the front edge of the holster to pull it in closer to the body. TRAE
  3. man thats really cool. where did you get the beaver tail?
  4. haystacker, that was my great grand daddys 32 S&W hand ejector. i really love old revolvers too, but dont shoot it much cause its really small and uncomfortable in my hand. i just ran across a 4" model 13-3 357 for a steal and want it bad but.... i dont think my marrage can take another gun purchase. however if i can find a deal on a model 25-7 in 45 long colt i guess we'll see how much she loves me i love that holster you made. i shoulda looked around a little more for a better design instead of tryin to "free hand" it. i can always make another one and probably will.
  5. Ah ha! I knew there was a reason. Very nice rig sir.
  6. It looks outstandimg. Why is it left handed if nobodys gonna accually use it?
  7. Mike, Thank you sir, for your honest evaluation. Your leather work is top notch. The wing thing didnt turn out like I planned. For some reason I thought the wider wimgs would make it more stable. But the opposite seems to be the case. Im kinda bad about just doing things without testing and thinking them through. Im gonna stick to basic guidelnes on my next one so mabye ill finally have something im accually proud to share on here.
  8. Nas, I think you did an awesome job. I wish I could answer your questions but youre a more advanced holstermaker than I am.
  9. g http://i1025.photobucket.com/albums/y311/daniellereames/2011-06-22_17-13-47_152_KPT.jpg ok after this one im gonna get serious. This is my first pancake holster that didnt turn out to be a total piece of crap. I still have a long way to go I know. My edges are still bad but I just ordered a beveler and some bees wax and some horse butts. So hopefully this will be my last bad one, lol.
  10. I love those. Been thinking about trying some horse hide. Mabye one day ill be able to make some holsters as good looking as yours.
  11. Puttting it on the back would be ok, I guess. But to leave it off all together, I think that would be akin to having a painting done and telling the artist not to sign it.
  12. I like it. Im gonna do a mouth support piece (dont know what its called) like that on the next one I do.
  13. I aint sure who came out better in that deal. Both look super good to me.
  14. yea, I feel the same way about the tops and the thumbstrap. But the leather I used was some scraps somebody gave me and I thought the top wouldve rolled if it was unsupported. But like I said I really had no clue what I was doing and still dont. I hope to learn as much as I can here. This is a great forum with some incredible talent. I hope to get better as I go. Thanks for the honest replies yall.
  15. well i cant seem to get the pics up. dont know whats wrong. but there are links to them now.
