    My simple beginings

A variety of the things I have made so far. Some good, some.....not so much. But in each project I have learned and love every minute I spent on them. I hope you enjoy taking a look at my work. All critique and constructive criticism is very welcome.
  3. one thing I did for when the baby was sleeping (sometimes the only time I get to work on things) is to use a dead blow hammer rather than a maul. You won't get as clean an impression but for general beveling and light tooling it works and keeps the noise down.
  4. Holsters seem to come pretty standard. One idea might be a holster that rides in the small of the back and holds the pistol in a horizontal or "butt up" way that is capable of retinaing the pistol through standard ranges of motion of the wearer. I have only seen a very few that work that way. Just an idea.

  6. From the album: My simple beginings

Made this for my son for his 1st communion. Had the idea about 3 days prior to the event and spent two very late nights creating this.

  7. Figured I had lurked enough and even added a few posts so I better do my introduction. Right now I am doing a lot of hobby leatherwork for the family. I have found that making things for the kids and family is great to practice all different kinds of techniques. The kids will always love whatever it is I have made and I can be free to add all kinds of crazy designs. I will have to get some pictures and post them soon. I am really loving this little hobby of mine and watching it slowly take over the garage. I am now finding myself looking for better and better tools and investing more money...oh how things start ot add up. But I honestly couldn't think of anything I would rather spend it on. I am all excited because I have my first commission to make something and hopefully it will lead to more and more.
  8. I am in the process of making 6 passport covers/wallets/holders for the family for an upcoming trip. I want the kids to be able to carry theirs without having to deal with a large pocket and have some secure way of holding them. I am thinking of doing a biker wallet style for a couple but am looking at the idea of adding lanyards or thin straps to some to be worn around the neck or over the shoulder. My issue is that they are not thick like a clutch purse and I am struggling with how to attach the straps or lanyards. Any ideas?? I am trying to avoid too much bulky hardware if possible... all help and ideas greatly appreciated
