  1. Nice! How will you finish? I would suggest a light coat of neatsfoot oil and let time and wear do the rest.
  2. I have a Filson field bag that has d rings set like this and it works well.
  3. I agree $45 sounds great, makes me wish I lived near your shows.
  4. I wanted to make a wet formed sheath for one of my favorite models of folding knife that has no clip and is a little too big for the pocket. I am pleased with how this turned out as it was the first wet formed sheath I have made. I finished it with Fiebing's Dark Brown dye and sealed it with Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene.
  5. Nice design, I think the square lines of the sheath make wearing it more "low key" when out in public.
  6. I think these look great! I am sure they are worn proudly.
  7. Nice! I like making tools as well and its neat to see what others are making.
  8. Hi Beary,

Nice to see your work. I may be interested in a small maul. What is you lighter weight range in oz. and what do they cost?

  9. I liked the pictures that you posted of yourself in the shop. Nice!

  10. Thanks for the compliments! It turned out better than I expected. The color lightened slightly where the barrel of the knife stretches the leather and created a nice highlighting effect. Glockanator, feel free to copy this design, maybe you will improve it.
  11. I really like Koster knives and you really complimented this one with your leather work. Very nice!
  12. Yeah, I went every year, my Dad was the County Extension Agent for Sweetwater County. Fun times!

  13. Here is a swivel knife case that I made to keep my old swivel knife from knocking into my other tools. It is stained with Fiebings Dark Brown dye and sealed with Acrylic Resolene. I made the pattern by tracing the swivel knife and then adding about 1/4" all the way around. I am returning to leather working after not doing any since I was in 4-H growing up in Wyoming and I am realizing how much fun I have been missing in the last 20+ years. I am also really enjoying the expertise here on the forum.
  14. Another book that I would recommend from Tandy is called "Leatherwork Manual" by Al Stohlman, A.D. Patten and J.A. Wilson. The book covers tool techniques, stitching, and gives a few basic patterns. It seems like it was designed as a short textbook for someone teaching a leather working class. Might be worth checking out.
  15. Nice work! How much beyond the phone's actual dimensions dd you allow for the seams and thickness of the phone on this design?
