  1. I would love to have a laser & a cutting machine with a vibrating knife. after all my , sewing machines now have modern motors with computer controllers . Have you seen the cost of a machine to cut out leather ? Or a laser engraver ? & the time that would needed to learn all those techniques for programming etc; etc ? & all that to cut 2 bags per week . The economics just don't come out right . There is a point where IT won't help a leatherworker . Maybe we can use some digital stuff to make us better hand tools ? ?

  2. It's a good idea & I've made some in that way but to get all the teeth the right size & spacing will be a challenge ! Maybe U could find some one to cut the teeth with a laser & all U would have to do would be to sharpen them & re temper them . Don't forget U will have to have some with 3 teeth etc. etc. . Why don't U order your pricking irons from Vergez-Blancard ² save yourself a lot of hassle ?

  3. Hi brother , I put some pics on Picasa web albums I'll find the link ? ? ? The knife handle is called L'indisponsable & it's coming from VERGEZ-BLANCHARD but U can make your own handle your self ; Use your ingenuity

Wow, man I'm impressed!! I like that idea, will give it a try I'm sure too. Tell me about the handle you have there.. did you make it, and how ?

  4. I make my own knives using High speed steel hacksaw blades ( NOT BI METAL ) Grind off the teeth with an angle grinder ,shape the point & sharpen on one side . I have been using this type of knife for 25 odd years . You'll need a diamond sharpening stone as the steel is very hard & even if when sharpening with your belt sander you heat up

the blade HSS does not loose it's temper (like we sometimes do ) . Make sure the blades you buy are not BI METAL ! Here's a video of me using such a knife .

Plese excuse the ugly gesture at the end of the video

  5. Hello brother luke , Is Ray family ? If so U should visit him & then come over & stay at my place for a few days ? It looks like your stitching pony would catching the thread on the mechanism all the time

    buyer will pay shipping.

I have pictures I can send if seriously interested...

    Thank you

    James

You can never have too many sewing machines Ralph . The 267 is the work horse of an atelier . Anybody should appreciate your machine . If U pay the shipping to Belgium I'll buy it !

  7. Good morning everybody , I agree with Yanni ! Three of my sewing machines have HO-HSING motors & I never had any trouble with them . & on the plus side is they all have needle positioning systems & although nobody talks much about that , I never would be anymore able to live without that feature ! Powerful without gear reduction pulleys .

But be careful there are 3 or four different models . On the down side they are expensive ; There is a guy selling them , I think it's Gregg from Keystone ?

  8. Well Ralph....52 views and no replies...I'm up to doing that..P M sent..

52 views and no replies . Sounds like the story of my life LMAO ; I'll start the ball rolling by finding out if Those crazy jokers can cough up the cash & if so I'll put U in contact directly with president of their club . I'll be here to help in any way I can apart from doing any real work LMAO !

    I'll keep U informed .

  9. You are the miracle Ralph, Thanks again. But don't you still have a Pfaff 335 that can use those feet? I do not have any picture of those feet's, but it is drawings of them in the subclass part list attached. If you look at the sub class -H3 17/01 and the above part numbers. It looks like a standard left foot with a short and wide vibrating presser (front) foot. I guess that is easier to see when the binder is in place and modify them then. (However, the Pfaff feet's are very hard tempered, I had to grind a bit on mine, and it was very hard)

    Thanks

    Trox

    Hi Trox , I got X 2 335s & I dont use them too much anymore . If U wan't U can come here and I'll give U one ! She's got an EFKA with needle positining system !

Don't worry about me ! I'm glad to help .

  10. Hi Ralph and Sewingtec, My Internet line has been down because of an ISP change. It is hard to follow up these topics on an Iphone, but broadband line is up again now.

Thank you my good friend Ralph, but you must accept some payment for it. I do not have any experience with the binding operation, but I can see the necessity of a synchronized operation cause of the walking foot. Is it possible to connect your swing away bracket to the feed dog? If so the only thing I need more is the needle plate for the subclass -H3 17/01, # 91-040 701-04. This is a plate with a cut out for the synchronized binder bracket. If I can not find one, I can do as you did and modify a standard plate. The binder foot set has the number # 91-042 819-93 x 5, 0 and # 91-040 432-04 x 8. Or I can use a clone product. Thank you again Ralph, think of a price, if you have Paypal it is easy to send you money.

I have also received a PM from Coryleif, he informed me about a Hong Kong company; kwokhing.com. These are the prices of the binders he purchased from them:

    KHF2 (S thickness) 26mm USD 12.30

    KHF8 Single Fold 1" USD 8.40

KHF66 1" USD 12.30. I have not had time to contact them yet.

    Thanks

    Trox

Hi Bro , Of course the feed dog and the guide are hooked up with a pin on the guide that fits into a hole on the hungry dog !

& those pieces have been kikin around with me for the last 30 yrs just waiting to find a good home and , alas , there U are ! I would say it's a miracle .

Aren't the feet just simple left handed feet ? Maybe the back foot has no foot on the side & i got dome of those too which I also don't use anymore . They are included in the price .

Send some pics of the feet . I'm sure I got some .
