  1. I bought a cheap edge beveled and ground off all of one side but the last bit. It allows you to make those sharp turns without issue.
  2. Shooter that is beautiful...I bet my wife wishes I saw one of your holsters about 3 or 4 years ago. If I had, I wouldn't have started making my own (and everyone else I know) and moved her car into the driveway and out of my "shop"! lol Bronson... For what it's worth - If you aren't able to get it the way you want it, on one of the ones I did, I actually sewed a small piece of leather on the underside of the strap in the shape of the thumb safety right below where the safety is located. On the outside you can see a small triangle of thread, but on the strap side there is a piece of leather below the safety that prevents it from being disengaged (even if you try to).
  3. Looks nice. I apologize that I am at work and didn't read all the replies, but the only thing I see that would benefit both holster and gun is to use something for a sight channel. I cut up one of my wife's plastic coat hangars (different lengths based on the barrel length - end of barrel to back of ejection port) and tape it on with painter's tape. Everyone has their own way/idea on what works best, but this has served me pretty well. I notch one end for the sight and taper back the other end so that it isn't real abrupt where it ends at the rear of the ejection port. Put the sight in the hole you created and tape around the gun/plastic piece. I also wrap the gun whether it is a dummy or the real thing (habit I guess). This not only makes it matter less which dummy gun you get in regards to the blue coming off inside the holster, but it also helps to maitain the channel line that you want for whatever gun/style holster you are using. Above all, unless you have a really large front sight (haven't found one yet), your front sight will never tought the leather.
  4. Any suggestions for a Medium Brown? The HO Brown Springfield has is good quality wise, but a bit darker than I am looking for.
  5. I am sure someone already told u, I didn't read through the entire post, but u didn't go back through the eye on the first pic. I did the same thing and had the same problems. Not sure why, not enough tension maybe, but fixing on my Cobra 3 remedied the prob
  6. I did this holster pretty much the same way. I actually backed my exotic with 2-3oz veg tan. This was my first one...the main thing for me was remembering to finish the "cut-out" area before putting it all together. Both front pieces are 2-3oz pieces. I have one piece with the cut-out, the other, is the size of the full holster. Glue and sew the exotic to the cut-out, then the cut out to the other piece around the edges. I have another one I have done that I will have to find the pic on. Good Luck!
