Hello there one and all.

Well I started out a young and keen lad to make some things for myself and I am a born natural person that likes to fiddle around with stuff just as my father did. With this I mean tinkering with all kinds of things. I had a very small workshop to start and it had some tools and a good workbench. This allowed me to do little projects and make things in leather. My mother has always been a bit of a craft type person and she had some scraps of leather and some punches and eyets etc. So off I went and made a couple of things in leather that turned out great. It all went from there and soon I was making little key rings and the odd belt. I soon was married and didnt have a workshop for a couple of years but when we moved into our new home back in '76 I had a place to work again. This set me on the road to making holsters and belts and all sorts of nic-naks for everyone. Without a sewing machine I couldnt do much and learned to hand sew with the Al Stolman book and his other books which taught me heaps about leather. I was very lucky and lived not far (20 minutes drive) from a major tannery. This kept me in veg and chrome leather for all those years but sadly it has now closed. I stocked up but that will run out eventually. Anyway I now have a small business making all kinds of leather stuff from police gear to moulded pouches and everything in-between. I have a clicking press, a band knife splitter and 6 sewing machines amoungst other tools and things. I am also a Professional Firefighter in Auckland City, play the piano,have computer skills and like taking photos which takes up most of my spare time. I have been at it for about 30 odd years and have learned a thing or two about leather. Auckland City is a long way away from the USA and anywhere for that matter but its not a bad place to live.
