So I decided to make myself a new wallet. I figure I could give it ago and this is what I came up with. Most of my wallets have been simple two slot day trip bi-fold wallets. this one hade a little bit more slots. here it is

So I just got into whip making and was wonder what I should use to skive the leather before I start plaiting it.

My dad wants to wrap it in leather lace. We saw a pic of a guy who did a hangmans knot anybody try that

So my dad does blacksmithing and he made a axe and he would like to wrap the handle in leather. I was wondering if anybody here has done anything like that and if so if you could show me how or have a link to a site that would show me how. thanks

Ok I guess what I'm trying to find out it how much dye how much thinner do you put in a little glass or plastic cup and just test mixtures till it looks good or do you just go 50/50

I have some fiebings brown dye and the first piece I used it on turned out way to dark so I bought some thinner but what is the proper way to thin the dye. Thanks

I just got done with a wallet and I did not oil it enough before I dyed it and when I was done dying it I even oiled it more and when I was all done lacing it it cracked when I folded it in half. Luckily it was just a wallet for me. I just wanted to add my .02 on the oiling part

No worries I got it done today. I did it in two pieces. And spliced it but thank You.

So my lace should be ariving today in the mail and I have a wallet that is 6"x4-1/4" and I will be doing the double loop stitch and jaws wondering how to measure how much lace I will need to lace the whole thing. Thanks

So I want to make a tool bag for myself. And I'm wondering what size of leather to use. What I mean by size is should I use 4 to 5 or 6 to 7 well you get the idea.

Just wanted to say hi I'm new to the forum and tooling leather. I just got into tooling in November as a new hobby. And I'm loving it. And I was just wondering if anybody knows if there is a way of posting pics with a iPhone. My phone is the only Internet I have.
