  1. my first attempt at a dog portrait
  2. i knifed the lines in and used a checkered bevel-er at the crossovers. I used a hair blade for the texture and a double bevel for the long lines afterward to maintain "depth" I am going to try some different patterns in the near future on some stuff and I will post . I just got sick of basket weave "stamping" and may never go back. thank you for the compliments ! I gave it to dad today because he is leaving town in the morning...he wanted to frame it...LOL...I said "hell NO!" your going to wear it! he was afraid of getting in trouble carrying the knife. It matches a belt I had made him.
  3. Thank you all ! He loves it, Gave it to him today...He is headed to the casinos for a few days in the morning

  6. Lol.. good point! nice purse...but all that stitching would require doubling up on my klonopin ! lol alI my holsters take me right to the edge of the stitching scream. I am learning to be more patient though. I posted this purse on my facebook page "leatherbyalex" and my regular fb page and now have to make another one ! ...So I guess the plastic is going on my head !
  7. Thank You CowboyDan, i will be lucky to make it to the new school season before this one is "out" and a new one is demanded ! LOL is there any way to seal or prolong the hide ? That has been my concern (and one of the german shepereds deciding to kill it)
  8. Thanks for the early morning laugh...I needed that , got a big day ahead LOL Thank you! don't laugh but........I was told it is very durable from the manager at tandy..... LOL
  9. this is my first purse and first try at double loop stitching ( i'm nearly bald now) her birthday is Sunday and she will be 8. nice light tan cow with british tan stain
  10. need to clean up the edges , but basically done. fits 4 5/8 ruger singel action
  11. testing my resizing while sharing a current project under construction too small?
  12. I cant figure out how to re size....i will keep trying. thanks
  13. Thanks for the compliments. I use European single bends 6-7 oz. these fine hides really tool nice. i use 3oz liners. i do not have to wet these hides, they are soft and supple, after gluing the liner it has the perfect stiffness. i used fiebings pro dark brown with three good coats to darken the leather up( the customer wanted almost black) i used resolen on this holster but will not again, it goes on thicker than what i like and i had issues with some bubbles drying in it. The resolene also took alot of depth from the tooling being thicker. I really like the eco flo pro finish gloss over tooled work..it goes on thin and no issues with build up or bubbles. i can use two coats of eco flo pro and still not diminish the tooling. agian..the European single bends work great for me..world of difference for tooling. no need to wet when folding. thanks
  14. i am finishing up a belt and sheath that goes with this rig i did last week, i will try to get some good pics
  15. Hi Mike, Thank you! the studs are only through the strap of leather across the front. no metal inside the rig.
