I have a lightly used cowboy cb341 for sale. It has maybe 10 hours of use so it's like new. I have extra bobbins, needles, and thread in various sizes as well. Pick up only, I'm located in the Dayton Ohio area. Asking $1800.

Just saw this video posted on the clone of the tippmann boss, looks pretty interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abyd-qdmOlk

Congrats, I just picked up a cb 341 from there on Tuesday and I've been very happy with it. They had just sold a 3200 before I got there so I didn't get a chance to see one set up. We tried 277 on this one but the needle was too big and hit the hook so I'm limited to 207 max. After using it for a few projects though I think it's plenty big enough, I might even go down to 138.

Rookie Question Toro 3000 Bobbins
Kaje replied to Order and Chaos's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Looks like they are $3.80 each from Artisan http://artisansew.com/pdf/ArtisanRetailSparePartsPriceList 06_2015.pdf http://artisansew.com/motors.html I guess you have to call them to order. -
Do you think the 341 would be able to sew belts and bags? I was hoping to use 207 thread at least for looks. I know there is no one machine that does it all but I don't plan on making holsters or tack and the thinnest I would sew is maybe some lining leather for wallet interiors.

Here is the link to the youtube video as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVJ9_3AbmO4

Wow I didn't see that special edition, certainly not to my tastes...

I'm in the process of turning my hobby into a business so I've been looking for a sewing machine. I was originally thinking of getting the cowboy 3200 or consew 206rb but something in between the two would suit my work better. I looked at the 227r but the 341 seems to be a better machine with larger bobbin and thicker sewing ability. I typically make wallets but want to get into bags and belts as well. Does anyone have any experience with the cowboy cb341? They don't have it listed on the toledo industrial site but I did see a video on youtube and this website http://www.solar-leather.com/cowboy-cb341/

What about the Consew 226? Is a used one worth $700? http://dayton.craigslist.org/for/5196812308.html

I found a local dealer that sells Juki, Consew, and Chandler machines. Other than being a flatbed machine would a chandler 406rb be able to do most everything other than gussets? I'd like my first machine to be as versatile as possible. http://www.industrialsew-tech.com/

Would a cowboy 3200 be a better choice at over twice the cost? A lot of my wallets are under 1/4" thick.

Thanks for the advice, is the timing belt the belt on the right side of the machine? Can I run it with 207 thread?

I found a used Chandler 67 GK373 on craigslist for $600 and I was wondering if this would be worth my time without having to sink a lot of extra money into it. It looks like it has a clutch motor so I would probably want to put a servo motor on it which is an extra $150. I mostly sew wallets but I may get into belts and bags once I get a machine, will this be adequate for the task? Thanks for any help.

Face Wallet Gag Gift
Kaje replied to Kaje's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Haha, that's a good security feature! -
I made a quick little card wallet for my coworker as a gag gift. I drew a simplified version of his face for the front and one of his many catch phrases on the reverse.

Hibiscus Basket Weave Wallet
Kaje replied to Kaje's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks! Fiebings pro oil dye black on the border, angelus acrylic paint for the hibiscus and letters, 2 coats of angelus satin acrylic finisher for the resist and then black angelus acrylic antique over everything with another coat of the finisher on top. I did use some brown dye to fill in the background area of the flower and letters but would probably do black next time. -
Hibiscus Basket Weave Wallet
Kaje replied to Kaje's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Haha, thanks. I normally don't have any cash, it's birthday money I haven't decided what to spend on yet. -
Finally made a wallet for myself, still used it as a chance to try out a new interior design. It has 3 card pockets and a big cash pocket in the back. When I use this style again I'll probably make it a little wider and somehow expand the cash pocket so it can stretch a little more. At the moment I have it pretty stuffed.

If Shane hasn't purchased it I may be interested as well.

I overbooked myself as well, just sent out the last three wallets today. Now I have some stuff to make for friends. Can't wait for the holidays to be over, I could use a break!

I was just considering the same machine, you're happy with it? You don't think it would be worth stepping up to the 3500? Also what sort of accessories came with it?

A brand new Tippmann is on sale for $1200 right now, how much could I get a 441 clone for? Would that be like a Cowboy CB3500?
-
I'm considering buying a leather sewing machine to help grow my part time leather wallet business and I was wondering if a Tippmann Boss would be suitable. I live in an apartment so I have very little space available. I am renting a garage at the apartment but the power is limited and I'm not sure if it could handle an industrial machine motor. I might start branching off into belts and bags as well at some point. Any advice would be appreciated.
