  1. Welcome and enjoy the group, I am a newbie also. I heard a long time ago that you can freeze the hides but they must be well protected against freezer burning. If you place them in plastic wrap be sure to wrap it again in aaluminum foil. Plastic allows air through but the aluminum doesn't. Bob
  2. Hey everyone, I just finished carving what will be my new hip quiver after I finish the rest of the work. I am not happy with the way the belly scales turned out but I am hoping to disguise the rough edges with the beveler and modeling spoon. Any and all comments are appreciated. Thanks, Bob
  3. One month is all you have doing this? Nice work for such a short time. Keep up the good work and we will be watching for your new stuff. Bob
  4. Thank you for the kind words everyone. Big, We are in Ventura County, Santa Paula to be exact. If you are unfamiliar with the area it is about 30 minutes south of Santa Barbara (on a good day). ;-) Bob
  5. Incredibly impressive. These two words don't describe the beauty of this. WOW!!! Bob
  6. Very nice work. I love the Thistle. I agree with an earlier post about making the background stand out more. Still, it is beautiful.
  7. Hey Everyone I wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I have been on here about a week and truly enjoy the work I am seeing from other artists. I have been serious about leather work for about a year and now it has become my sanity after work at night. I think I will be learning for the rest of my life, just when I feel comfortable doing something a new way pops up to chalenge me. I have added a few items that I created to hear any comments from you. I have other items but the file sizes are to large to post right now. I am so glad that I found leatherworker.net. Bob
