I know you all heard the "i can make that" before, but I am just that kind of person. It isn't that I want to save a buck, or do not appreciate the time you all put into your craft. I genuinely just enjoy making whatever it is I can. This time, I will say, damn this is hard! I, as my wife can attest, have created some new words not fit for anyone during my quest for creating my own CAS rig and I am not quite done. Here is my first attempt at a holster and hopefully I can make another just like it. Let me know what you think.

Very nice. I love the colors and the design. -
It's ok.............. I kinda stole it myself. It is just an adaptation of another members design. Be sure to post it up when you do.

Thanks TR, I am not sure what an English Point is, but I will be sure to look it up. What type of loop do you prefer? Is there a special reason? Thanks, Ken

I don't know much about saddles, but it looks very nice to me.

Thanks for the kind words! Ken

This is my very first gun belt (and my second project ever), which I am using for my CAS rig. It is two layers hand sewn together, colored with vinegaroon, copper accent rivets, basic Tandy buckle and olive oil finish. I know it isn't perfect, but I am very happy with it. I learned a lot making it due mostly with help from all the great people here. I thank you all for the help along the way. Now, I have to get moving on my holsters! Please don't be shy......critique away! Thanks for looking, Ken

Well, I decided to color first and cement after. here is a peek at my first project after coloring (and neutralizing) with the vinegaroon. Almost all the techniques used were learned from reading this forum, so I thank everyone who shares their knowledge with us beginners. Hopefully, I will be posting some finished pics in the show-off section soon. Free time is hard to come by and I have about a hundred inches of hand stitching to do (never done that neither) so I think it might be a while.

They sure are very nice. My only advice is...........make more!

So, I am doing my first real project and am using vinegaroon. My question is, do I cement and sew my pieces together first or should I color and stabilize them first? I am uncertain if the vinegar will have a negative impact on the contact cement. Thanks, Ken

That is sharp! -
I have used the Weldwood in the red can (the smelly stuff) and had to do two coats (I use very thin coats) to properly adhere two pieces of veg tan flesh to flesh. Having used the green can for woodworking projects, I have gone back to the red can as I didn't have good luck with the green can. I know it smells and you really shouldn't breathe it, but I just find it works better. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

I hate to even ask, but apparently a lot of gun manufacturers are not shipping to New York. I need to make the holsters for my CAS rig and I don't have my guns. What is your typical width for the belt loop on a Colt clone loop holster? I am running out of time for the first event. I need to plan my belt as it is the only thing I can make. I appreciate any insight. Thanks, Ken
