Well , it does take dye BUT i prefer to dye them using either acrylic dyes or the new fiebing Dura edge . If i use acrylic then i have to apply a different finishing process to smooth it and to protect it from rain . The Dura is less demanding and offers a better result but it hasn't a lot of colors to choose from . Overall , to burnish them i use these french heat burnishers instead of my cocobolo dremel burnishers : http://www.vergez-blanchard.fr/boutique/fiche_produit.cfm?ref=3_995_G&type=40&code_lg=lg_fr&num=2 Somehow it gives me a better result . A Cabas Style Bag
olivier79 replied to olivier79's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks Monica . Yes it's an extra layer at the bottom for keeping the groceries laying at the bottom of the bag intact . Also , it gives more stability when you'll lay it on the ground . I've chosen to close the bag with a magnet for easier acces to it . And because the straps are keeping it closed when holded , it's still safe from any attempt to steal the content . Thanks , Olivier -
This one i've done for my wife when she goes to the market so , yes it's big but not heavy . I've lined it with brown calf skin . Thanks , Olivier

Thanks Narvi for your reply . It's funny because when i wrote this question in June i actually glued the Lin Cable in order to secure it but i thought that there should be something better to do or , let's put it this way , something more secure . So now i know i did it right without knowing . Thanks a lot , Olivier

Lin Cable is unwaxed but even when waxed , when i want to burn the end bits they're actually burning instead of melting as with the threads i used . So my question is - is there a certain method of doing it or is it supposed not be burned , but finished differently ? Thanks in advance for the replies , Olivier
