  1. Good points Beardog. I was thinking maybe an avenger style holster instead of a pancake. I'm gonna play around with some patterns tonight.
  2. Nice looking holsters guys. I love your rig Goodfella!
  3. Beautiful work! I really like the crossdraw.
  4. I'm not looking for a period style holster as he just want this for carrying when hes fishing and camping. I'm thinking pancake holster but there is no trigger guard or anything to stitch around to keep the gun from just going right through (if that makes sense). Thanks for the links sir, I'll look through them.
  5. Okay folks, I'm drawing a complete blank on trying to come up with a workable holster design for one of these. The gun is a Leinad MR 45/410 which is a newer version of the pepperbox. I'm basically trying to make a holster for a beer can because that's about how big it is. So I'm wondering what ideas some of you guys with more experience can come up with. Here is apicture of the gun.
  6. Hey Peter, I am in the same boat as you with stuff to make. It is rare that I get a minute to make stuff for myself. On a side note I'm a traditional archer as well. Any chance you are going to the Baltimore Bowman Traditional shoot in 2 weeks?
  7. Thanks for the compliments! Great looking holsters Lobo.
  8. Where did you get that concho if you don't mind me asking?
  9. Thanks for the inspiration, this is what I came up with. I'm happy with how it turned out and it rides nice.
  10. That looks awesome! I need to try my hand at some exotics. I have a guy that wants an ostrich holster for his 1911 but I have been afraid to ruin a nice piece of ostrich.
  11. Beautiful work! I look forward to seeing the stuff you post.
  12. Awesome looking holsters! This is just the inspiration I was looking for. I'm thinking something along the lines of EagleStroker's is what I will end up trying. Until then, keep the pictures coming!!!
  13. I'm in need of some inspiration. I want to make a cross draw holster for my Security Six mostly for fishing or tooling around in the woods where I don't have to worry about someone standing in front of me taking it. I haven't seen many pictures of cross draws on here so how about some inspiration please! Thanks in advance, Brian
  14. Hey Jarhead, I'm right around the corner from you in Leader Heights. Glad to see some other local people on here. Semper Fi, Brian Crowl
  15. Beautiful holsters. Can I ask how you did the shark overlays since I would like to try some exotics. Specifically what weight leather you put it on and what you used to glue it. My concern is the edges of the overlay between the stitch and the edge of the leather, I'm afraid it will come up if that makes sense.
  16. I think I will give that a try. Thank you!
  17. I did see those Sylvia, but they are both bigger then the "00" size one I have. I guess I'll just have to keep checking ebay. I did not think about welding and resharpening it. Can they weld something this small? Thanks for your help by the way.
  18. Hey Sylvia, I did find that one which is I guess the new Sargent hand tools. Below is a picture of the one I have. It says "Sargent & Co New Haven CO" on it.
  19. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have been using a hole punch with the name Sargent on it. I know these aren't made anymore, or if they are I can't find them, and I just cracked the punch tube on it. I'm hoping that someone knows where I can get replacement tubes (size "00") or another whole punch. I use this thing alot and the Osborne one I got just isn't as good. A freind of mine found this one at a flea market for $3 with the paperwork and everything but there were no extra tubes. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a replacement? Thanks in advance for any help, Brian
  20. I think I'll stay with Springfield Leather. Every time I order they have great communication and are just an all around great company. If it ain't broke I ain't gonna try to fix it!
  21. Hell, we're practically neighbors. I just checked out (and bookmarked) your website. It's cool to find other leatherworkers in the area. Sorry to hijack your thread.
