  1. Thanks, as soon as I get another piece of leather I'll be posting a new one.
  2. I pay your salary and you're making patterns at work!!!!! :D Just had to be the one saying that for once. Look forward to seeing the finished product. I've thought about doing a shoulder holster, but I think I need more practice first!
  3. Very nice looking quiver! Long live traditional archery!
  4. Great looking holster, I'm sure he'll treasure that the rest of his life!!! And as far as the hunting argument, this ain't the place for it, take your views and dump them on someone else! He never asked how you felt about hunting. I'm sure theres a tree in need of a hug somewhere, why don't you go find one. Brian
  5. when my holsters start looking like yours I will feel like a success!!!!
  6. As a friend, I don't think you should have that heavy gun weighing down your pocket, so I will offer to take that setup off your hands! :D No need to thank me, that's what friends do. Nice work by the way. It's always fun gettin a new gun so you can build new holsters!
  7. Nice lookin holster, and as for the gun, I handled one the other day at the gun shop and all I can say is I liked that gun alot!!! Stay safe, Brian
  8. Nice post! I think you will be addicted to this leatherworking now. It starts as a need for a holster, then before you know it you'll be making holsters, knife sheaths, whatever you can find. Welcome to the forum, you will find alot of good info here and everyone goes out of their way to help you! Brian
  9. That's what I'm asking, how do you hold the leather in place while you mold it? On my holsters so far, I've stiched then go back and mold it, but it sounds like everyone else molds before they stitch.
  10. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, how do you guys mold before you stitch???
  11. You guys give a ton of information. I'm going to have to reread this post a couple times to digest everything. Good news is that theres a gun show this weekend, and I'm suddenly in the market for a thinner handgun! :D But thanks again for everyone taking the time to share your wisdom and advise. I'll post my next one on here soon, but I have 3 knife sheaths to do first. Semper Fi Brian
  12. Thanks for all the input guys. I'm going to have to play around with some ideas and see if I can fix the problems. One more holster into the unused holster box!!!
  13. Thanks for the info Twinoaks. I think I'll just tell my wife I need a 1911!!!!
  14. Twinoaks, I think you're right, the gun is too wide. The only solution is a thinner gun. I guess you can send me your 1911! :D I've carried this gun IWB for about 4 years now, but I was hoping for a more comfortable holster, I guess it's back to the drawing board!
  15. That's kind of what I was thinking. The VM2 for the Glock 27 has alot more leather at the bottom if you look at their website. I prefer IWB since it conceals the best for me, but it definitely isnt the most comfortable way to carry. Thanks for the compliment.
  16. I made this yesterday to pass the time. It doesn't conceal as well as I thought it would, not sure what I did wrong. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.
  17. Funny you should say that Scouter. I have been kicking some ideas around, and where the flap of the pouch comes over on this one I was thinking of putting an EGA there instead of the antler. not sure how it will look, what do you think? And yes mortars are heavy, but I only humped the 60mm! Semper Fi, Brian
  18. Nah, you don't have to move it. I just wanted to get this new area started! If you post it, they will come!!!! :D
  19. Thanks Johanna, that was easy.......................what else can we ask for
  20. Wow, the first one to post in here...noone will probably find this for awhile. This is one of my quivers I've done. I've made a couple since, and they're getting a little better. Thanks for our new section Johanna!Oh, and sorry for the crappy pic!
