Hi all, im looking for natural and brown chromexcel in 3/4 and 4/5 oz. I'm familar with how ordering Chromexcel goes and my usual supplier is out for the time being. If anyone is selling any or can refer me to a supplier id be extremely grateful. Even if its a factory second that is half decent I'll take some as a last resort. THANK YOU! -Kevin

Chromexcel Card Case Burgundy/natural
KGV replied to KGV's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
@paulsleather Thanks so much! I've always had a thing for burgundy and thought it paired well with the natural. I went with 5-6 oz. chromexcel (a little too thick) and 3-4 on the veg tan which works out perfect. Haha, well, the grass is always greener on the other side, I'd take the snow any day, be happy you don't have 99 degree summers like we do in Florida.- 4 replies

Thank you for the help everyone, I've gotten quotes from a few companies and will probably go with a mallet die. Cem -- I'll be cutting 4-5 oz. leather, nothing bigger, a mallet die seems to be the economical solution.

Hi all, I'm looking to get a custom die cut or two made. I don't know if there are any that you can press into the leather by hand but that would be preferable. I'm going to be producing roughly one hundred of the same item and need every piece to be exact. If anyone knows where I can get custom die cuts done that don't need a machine to cut the leather please post or PM me. Thank you!!!! - Kevin

Looking for any-weight/thickness - preferably 2-3 and 3-4 oz. glazed natural calfskin leather, this is the exact color/finish I'm looking for below but i'm wary of the time and any hassle with ordering from overseas and prefer CONUS distributors for a first option. http://www.leathercr...uhin.jsp?id=454 http://www.leathercr...454/ssg_n_l.jpg Please let me know if anyone carries this, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, KGV

Hi all, I'm interested in buying some burgundy chromexcel, or any burgundy leather for that matter, in a weight of 8-11 oz. for a belt. Specifically i'd like 8-9 oz. chromexcel, but any burgundy belt weight leather would work. Please let me know if anyone stocks it and if anyone could put me in contact with a supplier. Thank you, Kevin

If anyone could point me toward such a product it'd be greatly appreciated, thanks so much! Kevin

Thanks so much both of you, electrathon, that's exactly what I need, a stitch groover and some practice punching holes should do the trick, again, thanks for all the help both of you!

Hi all, I'm new to leather working and have made a few pieces but have a continuous problem, my punches/holes that I make with my awl aren't straight. I'm free handing the holes by setting a ruler next to the edge of the leather and making the indents one by one, using the ruler to guide my distance between the holes, everything is spaced out right but I can't get the hang of punching the holes in a straight line, is there a tool/skill that I need to learn or does it just come with practice? Thanks for the help, KGV
