That's beautiful and it looks perfect to me. I saw a tut on inlay somewhere that recommended using the leather piece removed for the inlay to be trimmed slightly around the edges, then replaced behind the inlaid material (leather or in your case, denim) in order to pad it out to bring it to the same level as the rest of the piece. On the other hand, the inlay in your work is framed by the leather and that also works extremely well. What a neat piece.

I have just seen this topic. Many thanks indeed for the time and effort you've taken to share your knowledge.

Hi Chief, please ignore the critics and rather listen to the people you've helped! (Aren't they your target audience anyhow?) There are too many people out there who think they can do things better than the next guy, but YOU'RE there - THEY aren't! Many more people than you realise are being helped by you taking the trouble to pass on your knowledge. Thank you

Plastic honey/jam jar with a hole punched in the centre of the lid. Transparent so you can see how much is left in there. Fasten to one of the uprights of your stitching pony with a big elastic band or two. No pictures, sorry. My phone (camera) is broken.

This is fantastic Chief. Many thanks indeed. My brother has a few Banjos, one of which is an electric job so I'm sure the strap will fit something in his armoury. I may have to be satisfied with any sort of leather I can get my hands on but I will try to get as close to the stuff you recommend here. Regards Lorna

Chief, thank you for posting this. Do you have a pattern/template or dimensions (plus attachment method) for a BANJO strap? I would like to try and make one for my brother but I don't want to ask him for measurements in case it winds up being a doggy chew-toy or something! Many thanks Lorna

Did that case ever get made or did everyone just get cross and go away?
