  2. whatever... "3rd leather item"! this thing is beautiful! i havent tried molding yet but i doubt mine would look like that on a third try
  3. Hey, brother. If you don't mind me asking, what tools are you using to carve your portraits? I think I might give a portrait a try and would appriciate any pointers I could get. Thanks! -Rich
  4. Aint that the truth! Those are some great portraits!
  5. Thanks for that advise, Halitech. The tools that I have baught have been liek you have said, ones that I think I will use often. I have only been at this for a month or two so I am slowly, but surely, aquiring more as I go along. I am in the Army and I have so military related type projects that I have in mind for when I get a few more tools and have a little more skill. If they turn out well, im going to try and get them out on the market. Thanks again for the help. I have been learning a lot from this site.
  6. Thanks for the compliments, guys. I am a beginner (this is only like my 4th or 5th project) and it did come as a kit. The only thing that I changed was putting in part of my dad's logo. I dont have the tools to put in my own holes for the stitching but that is the next thing on the list! I am really enjoying this hobby and I cant wait to get cracking on the next item!
  7. Here it is finished. I think it turned out pretty well.... better than I thought it would anyway I didnt think of that. hopefully it will work out and the old man will like it.
  8. So, this is a work in progress (obviously by the photos). It is originally ment to be a magnetic money clip. However, I decided to put part of my dad's automotive shop logo on it and make it a buisiness card holder instead. What are your thoughts so far? -Rich
  9. amazing. i hope that one day i too can piss excellence
  10. nice. i like the tooling that you did with the roses. i am looking to make a bag here pretty soon myself. i just got my first bike for christmas! What weight did you use and how long did it take you to complete?
  11. Hey, all. I am trying to find a place online where I can order a kit to make my own solo motorcycle seat. Does anyone know of where I can do that? I want to use a kit because I wouldnt be able to fab a seat pan. I looked on the Tandy site and couldnt find anything. Thanks for the help! -Rich
  12. Haha. Nice. I am a tattoo collector as well and am soon going to start working on my first book covers... Maybe I'll do the same once I get good at it!
