  1. i know this is an old topic but here's my two cents: I use Horween Dublin, Essex, Chomexcel etc. for my wallet interiors and have found that the only reliable way to "split" the leather is with a Little Giant Razor Blade Plane from the 50's & 60's. It takes a little practice and alot of cursing but once you get the hang of it it goes pretty quick... helps me take 4-5 oz. down to lining thickness.
  2. I find that when working on small items like watch bands it helps to skive the leather before you cut out the final shape, this also helps to avoid "fuzzies."
  3. go to Etsy.com and search for a store called 3DANsupplies they are based in hong kong and have the part you require. I've used him many times and am very happy with his products.
  4. I just run to Wally World and buy a spool of .065 weedwacker line it's nylon and holds up well with heavy use.
