  1. I haven't tried a second one yet but I had noticed that I will have to modify it.  I am not sure if it is me or the pattern but it did not go together correctly.  Like you said it is a good inspiration.  I have taken another pattern from that book for a nail clipper case and working on modifying is to a flash drive case.  The other one I have done out of that book is a knife sheath and it came out great...allot better than the kit.

  2. I bought a couple packs or overhead projector sheets (at a thrift shop) and if the design is simple I use a permanent marker and trace it on the film (just make sure you don't place the ink side on the leather...been there) or of the design is larger or more in-depth I tape a paper copy to a sheet of the film and tape another over it...then I cut it out of the film leaving about 1/4 inch around the design and seal the edges with tape.  You can also (usually) put these sheets thru a printer but, again, do not place ink side down on the leather.  Then I use a ball point pen to transfer the pattern...and being in the plastic film the image can be reused.

I don't know but this may seem like alot of work but it seems to work for a lasting pattern.  I am sure there are better ways but getting that film like I did (usually about $30 a pack...I paid $1) it's what I'm doing for now.

  3. I am in the PSJ/Cocoa area...I've talked some with a guy (can't remember his name) that has a shop on hwy 50 in Titusville. Only thing is, if you mention you are making the stuff to sell, he don't want to talk anymore. He has tried to sell me his entire shop but to me there is to much factory made leather products in there.

  4. This will be the top on a wooden trinket box. I have done these before and they came out good. I buy these wooden trinket boxes at dollar tree...paint them...do a pic on leather and glue it on the lid....actually they are pretty popular with the teens. Anyways, I got this done and realized I didn't have paint for the box. Last time I used some stain but don't want to use it up on the wood so I had to go buy a can. I will paint and assemble tomorrow but for now here is the top.

  5. Well here is a new roper wallet...unfortunately the rest of the pics were to large to upload and it is already gone. Upon advice from chief I used the mexican basketweave...it looked pretty good but I wasn't happy with the corners. Was going to take it all out and try again but the customer saw it and wanted it the way it was. On the closure I took someone elses advice and instead of riveting the strap on, I sewed it. Actually, not only was it more stable but I think it looked better.

  6. Halitech..thank you...on the advice about the interior...I actually thought it's to thin...the one I carry was from a kit and I should have looked at it because being a kit they go as cheap as possible and it has tooling leather inside.

On that background I ain't sure what happened but I believe next time I'll omit it. To me it looked wrong with the bike anyways...it's a craftaid.
