  1. I just learned how to tanning my own buck skin. I'm still working on the smoking part. Anyway I was looking to make a wallet with the hide. I was looking to see if there is any Pioneer or frontier patterns. I looking for a good books on how to make things from that time period.

    Hi, I was wondering what type of finish should I use to waterproof the leather,but I don't want to have the leather to be glossy because I'm using piece for hunting.
  3. I'm interested in making my very own wallet. I currently have a long wallet that can hold cash checkbook register and of course cards. I would like for the cards to be standing up vertical. Where can I find a good template for this type of wallet.

    Hi there I m looking to get into leatherworking and I don't know where to start. I'm glad I have found this forum to learn from you folks. I have watch video from Tandys, but I haven't bought any stamping tools yet. What tools should I get to get started? What I would I like to do is something like I bought a tandys the wildlife belt blanks for my wrist brackets. here is what I bought is this craved or was it stamped. I'm sorry I'm just learning at this point. is it only veg tan that you can stamp on or could you also stamp on deer skin for example
  10. Hello I'm new here, and to say that I'm new to leather working is a complete under statement. I'm looking to get into leather working and I have a lot of question and I hope that you folks share with me you knowledge of the craft. I have made one thing out of leather it was a Lakota quiver for my bow. I broke four needles trying to sew it up. I didn't know there was special needles. I did make a trip to Tandys to pick up some leather blanks to make some brackets for wrist slings, and they told me that the wildlife belt blanks were carved. lol I didn't even know that you could carve leather I thought those were stamped with 3d stamps. I'm excited to learn form you folks
