  1. I see a lot on our used/2nd hand market, but never the leather capable ones. I think the leather crafters have snatched them up, and locked them down! Thanks again!
  2. Thank you very much Wizcrafts and Evo! Good to know. Any idea of how frequently either of these machines come up on the market? Seems price has risen on these?
  3. Jimbob, have you used the 128 with leather? How does it sew, what weight of leather is it capable of sewing? Thanks for any info you have!
  4. Thanks for the response, and sorry about my tardy response. Still new to the forum, and haven't figured out how to be automatically notified of replies. Just found that little toggle in the bottom left, but I assume that is for this post? But let me see if I can re-ask this question. I'm looking for the smallest possible round needle whose eye would be big enough to thread Ritza 25 1mm thread. I haven't been able to find what size thread various round needles will accommodate. Thanks for your time.
  5. Hello friends, am using Ritza 25 at 1mm and am looking for a round needle for stitching in tight interior spaces. I have no experience with round needles, can anyone recommend a smaller round needle that has an eye large enough for Ritza 25 at 1mm? Many Thanks!
  6. I looked at those exact chaps as a reference. I was considering telling my friend to buy those, as I think my cost for the leather would be close to the cost of those chaps. I'm still at the buying veg tanned at Tandy stage, I am an elite member though, so I get close to what I think is wholesale, but still... That looks like at least 5 sq ft. The type of leather varies, too, from chap to chap. I've seen some type of split/suede to full on thick veg tanned. Also in this picture, they don't show how the belt is buckled, or if it is even buckled. I've also visited the ranch supply store, and looked at their chaps, pretty easy indeed. As with all things, the devil is in the details, I don't want to overlook some crucial feature. I'm new to leather, and I have such a reverence for the material, and the animal that produced it, I get skittish when it is time to cut! It is also so expensive, I can't take a loss. Thanks for your thoughts, though!
  7. Was just asked to make a pair of hay chaps for a friend... Have no clue how to make them, and have been researching, but there is so little info out there. If I could afford information, I would surely purchase these. Thanks for putting this together.
