Good eye Garyak,, & excellent work. you are a master,.. I’m curious, in this photo, you seem to have a brace on your wrist/ hand.. is that because your hand is injured? Or because you’ve been working on leather & your hands are hurting? If so.. does it help,? & allow you to still do the work? @ 63 years of age, my hands are trashed, I started working with leather at the age of 17, and I really hope to continue working it thru retirement ..but the knuckles are so swollen on a daily basis..just a few of my custom works.. most are in a photo album& not digital..

I’d say they are rolling up, I opted to apply some (clear dying) contact cement. It seems to be working well, I then used a needle & thread & took very small inconspicuous stitches to hold in place. Now back to what can I treat it with to ensure another 30 years of looking good. In which case it will outlive both the maker (me) and the owner.

Well the owner has always treated it with Vaseline..& truly I must say it kept it soft .. it’s back to me because he tried to overlay a portion with another piece of rattlesnake skin & for a better word he f’d it up., so , back to the beginning it’s over 30 years ago that I made this for him. And I was just wondering if there’s anything better out there. To treat it with

I’ve used the app. 1” wide metal straps for hanging ductwork…to give structure & form to saddlebags.. it’s very thin & also durable..& lightweight. On occasion I’ve covered it with the same leather the said bag is made of. It’s easy to drill out the holes for attaching with rivets..

I ran a 251-13 for about 20 years.. a gray machine mechanic goes along way too.. it was geared for leather & had a walking foot...It did a great job on garment leathers, ( jackets & chaps and lingerie ..& everything in between.
