I've been wanting to attempt a pair of cowboy boots for my two year old boy. Been thinking it should be pretty straight forward, but I'm sure I will be surprised at the many aspects of boot building that i haven't thought of yet.I have been watching videos of a custom bookmaker on FB, he makes it look so simple. Anyway, nice job. -
My first try at alligater print, wanted to play with the dye and highlights, but not sure the young man it is intended for would appreciate the efforts. So, black it is. Any pointers for improvement on the next one?

Thanks, this was my first cover. Learned a couple of tricks since making this one. My next attempt didn't turn out as well. That's when I saw a tutorial video on backings for tooling. Much better really silts on my third cover.

Thank you. It wasn't to bad on the tooling. Just keeping the basket weave straight was work. The pattern for this was my design. Freehand.

Did you ever find someone to do your horsehair piece for you? I hitch horsehair and leather. Origionaly from Mo myself. Trained and showed foxtrotting horses out of Sullivan.
