  1. I've seen mention of using a modeling spoon to remove presser foot marks but a search isn't turning up anything, can anyone help with the process? Thanks,
  2. Chief that is exactly what I do to case and the basic shape and trigger guard come out just like I see some other guys on here, I just wondered if the detail would be more defined on 7-8oz leather. Don't get me wrong I like the 8-9 but since I'm just playing around as a hobby I was curious
  3. I'm still learning this and I picked up some 8-9oz HO leather and made a couple holsters and I can't seem to get the boning as nice as some I see on here? I am pretty sure I'm casing it right and it holds the basic shape after molding but I can't get the details to show thru just the basic shape, should I try 7-8oz instead? Thanks
  4. That's what I was kinda thinking Tony, I figure even with a Shark Skin Laminate it will not be to thick
  5. It's about time for me to place another order for leather, I have a shoulder holster design I've worked up and I could really use some suggestions on what to use for the harness? IE. what weight type etc? I'm also considering at some point doing one in full shark skin including the straps so any suggestions there would be helpful. Thanks Folks!
  6. I found a better pic of the belt buckle she uses and I'm pretty sure it's the same one they sell at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame museum. They are made by inmates, I'd like to see a closeup of the holster though it has a flap on the outside top that I'm not sure if it is a thumb break or a hammer thong
  7. It's a beautiful rig I'm toying with trying something like that to use for our range days at the PD I work for.
  8. I think it's the same for all small business owners, My wife and I own a photography business and the stories of Brides we could tell……………..
  9. No Sir I meant no disrespect at all. I'm use to seeing the line follow the contour of the gun. I really like your take a bit better. Apologies if I offended you.
  10. I like the rear stitch line it's different than what I've seen before
  11. The lightbulb just came on! I'll mold the loop tight thanks guys, Ill post pics when it's done if I ever find the time to work on it again.
  12. I've been making a Wild bunch rig for my 1911 off and on over the past six months as time allows to use as a hog hunting rig I can just strap on when I exit the jeep. I think I may have an issue though. Do most guys add some type of device to keep the holster from sliding back and forth on the belt or will friction against my body hold it in place? I have the belt done and mag pouch but thought I better ask before I started the holster. Thanks, Eric
  13. I'm interested in the dremel method as I have hand issues also, care to share more info?
  14. I'm slowly tooling up for holster work and am curious what the preferred tool is for hole making? Any of the above none? What say you guys? Thanks
