Hello David, skiving machines are not that complicated to work on. There are plenty of youtube videos show you how to adjust the machine. I bought a used beat up one changed a few piece and got it working great. I have never used a fortuna the ones I have are consew and a cobra. they are the same thing just copies of the fortuna. fortuna's are hard to find and when you find one price is very steep. be sure to ask if he has other accessories for machine if you decide to buy it. there is a special tool used to remove blade when it needs to be changed. I didn't ask when I bought my first one and wasn't able to change blade till I borrowed a friends tool. depending on the price I would buy it since I myself like old machines. I hope this helped if you need any help you are in the right forum. The people here have a the knowledge and I am sure others will provide there 2 cents.

For sale I have a used consew DCS-S2 skiving machine. I purchased it for $600 non working with an old sewing machine table and old motor. I bought a new table, servo motor and grindstone for this machine . I got it running perfect. my old boss is retiring from the business and sold me a nearly new cobra skiving machine. Im in this machine for slightly over $800 and looking to break even. This machine runs great with no issues. I can also sell machine for $600 how i bought it with old single needle table and old motor. not looking to make a profit but dont want take a loss. I am location in Los Angeles CA. Price is $800 with new table, servo motor and grindstone or $600 with old table and old motor grindstone is already on so i will leave it on either way. Thank you last photo is how i bought it with old sewing table and old motor.

Hello i recently got into making leather goods. I am beginner that needs help, I am looking to buy a leather strap cutter. I got lucky and got a steal for a fortuna splitting machine. the same guy that sold me the splitting machine is also selling this strap cutting machine. I had already been looking into strap cutting machines and was leaning towards the cobra ak-20. i dont know anything about this machine i have uploaded some picture of the machine. I know its an associated pacific machine. I remember as a child i would see a building near downtown LA with associated pacific on the side. they are no longer located there and dont know much info on this machine. the guy selling it mention it was a 3 phase machine and i dont have 3 phase at my shop.the guy is selling it for $2k and for that price i think i can get a cobra ak-20. i love old school machines and if this machine works and can change it to 220v it would be a great addition. does anybody know anything about this machine? is it worth the $2k he is selling it for? am i better off getting a ak-20 that is a 110v ? please any info will help as i am new to this. thank you in advance.

hello nuttish i gave the guy a deposit a few days ago and will be picking it up this upcoming saturday. As soon as i have this bad boy at my place i will take pics of badges on the drive and blower motors. maybe you can give me more advise on the change from 3 phase to 220 when i send you the pics. thanks for your input. Hello bikermutt07 thanks for the input nstarleather thanks for the input and info. they guy selling it is also selling a strap cutter that looks old heavy duty but dont know any info on this strap cutter. the fact it is a 3 phase is my concern maybe someone knows more info on it. it looks heavy duty but the guy wants $2000 for this bad boy as well. i wouldnt even know where to buy parts if ever needed. i love old school machines just not sure if it can be repaired. for the price range i can get a new cobra ak20. if anyone knows about this machine i would really appreciate some info. thanks in advance.

Hello bikermutt07 I am aware it was a band splitter as I previously used a newer camoga at my old job. I just started working on my own and had no idea what these cost. Do you have an idea of what something like this would sell for? the guy I bought it from says it is in working condition with a new blade. my only concern the guy selling machine said this is a 3 phase machine and I only have a 220 plug not a 3 phase. He did mention that this machine can be changed from 3 phase to a 220v. do you know if this is true? thank you in advance.
