  1. Thank you, Tom. I just want to say that on LW has a lot of talented people whose experience and advice are worth its weight in gold. And you are definitely on this list. I still take more than I give.
  2. I tried to shoot a short video to demonstrate the volume and details. PS. I apologize if there are "too many of me" on the forum. https://youtu.be/POIkzr-nyyI
  3. Thank you, Tom. I will try to experiment a bit based on what I learned from your links. And if my result will be worthy of attention - I will share it :).
  4. Mike, many thanks for tips on the lense and camera! And for the comment about my work, too. Thank you, @Scoutmom103!
  5. Many thanks, Mike! Size is 21 x 30 cm.
  6. Finally I got to the workshop and took a photo with most resolution of my camera. From bottom to top - a modeling mini-tool, a tool for forming hair and a regular pencil (for estimating sizes). Tools made on the basis of dentist spatulas. Stainless steel and the price of 2.5 dollars
  7. Thank you! For fur I use stamps F902, F902-2, F910, very small modeling tool, my selfmade tool (see photo) and (very slightly) swivel knife.

@Lynxlady Thank you for such a high appreciation of my work!
  9. Tom, many thanks! And especially for the tips. I tried to squeeze a little more out of my camera, setting the format for saving RAW instead of the JPG. This transferred the processing to a computer that handles conversion to JPG better. But still, the matrix of my camera introduces quite strong distortions, which are exacerbated by my inability to work with lighting. But I will train
  10. Thank you! The photographer from me is not very good. ;) Indeed, some details that are present in this work are lost in the photo. Thanks!

Thank you! My weak English apparently distorted the meaning. It is a leather PLUGS that forms a relief. On which subsequently the main piece of leather is already superimposed, which with the help of bevelers and modeling tools repeats the relief of plugs. This technique is remarkably described by Al Stohlman in his book "The Art of Embossing Leather by Al and Ann Stohlman". UPD. This book is available in LeatherCraftLibrary https://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/product/1124/the-art-of-embossing-leather-by-al-and-ann-stohlman for free. Special thanks to Tandy Leather for making such a great gift to all leatherworkers in the form of free access to a huge number of great books.

  17. Thank you, Jeff! I hope colored variant will not disappoint you much Thank you! Thanks! Many thanks, Tom! The process will be unhurried - the long weekend is over
  18. Thank you. 4 oz for the carved area and a stack of leather 8 oz x 5 layers (or 10 oz x 4 layers, I don’t remember exactly ) for the embossing insert.
  19. Not for product, just to hang on the wall Carving and embossing using leather inserts. Size 21 x 30 cm (8 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches). The maximum height of the relief is 15 mm (about 1/2 inch). Leather thickness 3-4 oz. View after carving, not yet fully dried. It’s still in fluctuations - need I do full-color coloring or just emphasize the details. In any case, spirit dyes will be used.
  20. I am very sorry, but, unfortunately, shooting a video is definitely not the case in which I at least succeeded. My "ceiling" is to make a series of photos and animate them (as the first post of the topic heading). As soon as the camera turns on, I begin to twitch and make mistakes (a purely psychological effect).
  21. @chuck123wapati @wizard of tragacanth Thank you!
