Tandys, learnleather.com and armitageleather are the ones I have found most usefull. Seen a lot of videos of people making nice stuff, but not really learning anything usefull becaus the just do it, and do not explain in a way that gives me anything. Mind, english is not my native language so I need them to talk clearly and not much background music.
I made this one to night. Saw a youtube video posted here on less knife more beveler (or something similar) and it really gave me a LOT of solutions on my problem with swiveknife work.
Still have some stray toolmarks and so on, but hey - progress is progress
I used some violence and now the card fit :D
Thanks! By saddlesoap next.
2,5 mm veg tan pre coloured. Used gum trag and the coloure is off and uneven, it is not the same colour over the egde, if you get what I mean.
I dont know, maybe? Feels smooth but the colour is uneven and it does not look good.
My first conclusion is that I do NOT like flowers Need to find some other motive to practice on. My second is that the practice piece for coasters are very dry, so I have trouble getting them wet/dry enough.
Okey, looks like the mallet goes in your perferd hand. I use both now, depending on angel and tierdness in my arm. But suppose it is best to stick to one.
Stupid question, but what hand for what? I am right handed, but can use left for just about everything except writing. Mallet in left and tool in right? Or tool in left and mallet in right?
All right... Edging is going to give me (more) grey hair.
It feels smooth - but the look ...
I need edge paint?
By the way - next time: nooooot so tight cut. Can't get the card inside the first pocket
Ok, I am rather proud of the stitching here, its my second ever project involving stitching, and the first one was a dog collar and, well - lets not talk about that one.
So here goes!
I know its not perfect, but still.
