  1. Halitech it's veg tan cow. Turns out that you and Enanez84 are absolutely correct. Even for a front pocket wallet its way too thick. Going to make it out of 4 oz, and I think/hope that will be okay. Or maybe 3 oz....
  2. Thanks gentlemen for your ideas!! I'm going to carry it a while to see how it functions. I'm particularly interested in how it will act once broken in. I suspect that I'll end up agreeing that the leather overall is too thick for the design.
  3. I found when I did that I got an interrupted line, visually, and the thread tended to cut through.
  4. I'll go ahead and photograph with some cash and cards
  5. A front pocket veg tan leather wallet. Waxed hemp thread, no glue, 7 oz leather throughout.
  6. It's a front pocket wallet. The curve fits the outline of the pocket for a nicer in pocket look.

  8. I have some very nice 3-4 oz red chrome tanned leather. Problem is that it is too soft a temper to make a stand up bag I'm planning. Is it possible to use the 180 degree water method or 180 degree bake method to improve the temper, prior to cutting and sewing, so that it will be a bit firmer?
  9. Thanks bikermutt007 Made this with a round hole punch. Would using a diamond pronger style punch work better?
  10. Photos are linked below. Chromexcel 5 oz, beeswax waxed hemp cord, round hole punched, lined with deerskin, inside side. Zipper pocket also lined in deerskin. Top is a Lenzip #10 zipper. purse
