Hey everyone Im having "artist block" if that's a thing haha. I am in the U.S. Navy and I'm leaving for basic training in January. Before I go I want to tool a journal to take with me to my A-school. I'm thinking of doing a small 3 ring binder set up with the hardware attached to the spine. I chose this set up so that it can be multipurpose (journal, workout log, day planner...) I know I would like to incorporate the anchor but I'm not sure where to go from there. I thought about a Sheridan style but I think I want this a little more origional, but at the same time I want the "D@MN" factor! Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you and HOOYAH!

Just finished this for a customer. 9 oz tooled leather journal. 9 x 12 " - it's huge and it weighs almost five pounds. Fun project! I decided I hated cutting paper so much that I offered to make it bigger (free of charge) than the original 8x8 that he wanted. Fox on the front, aspen trees on the back.

Hi guys! I'm a noob in leatherworking and I want to find out how to harden/wrinkle leather. I've attached a photo of a journal i've bought and I was wondering how can I make leather stay in one place and stay hard like the ornament's hair/scarf on the cover of my journal (the photo I attached). Tx in advance!

Hey guys, I've been on and off here quite a bit for the last two months or so trying to learn from seeing and reading. I've done some stamping with the two Tandy kits I bought, but I think I want to head in the purse, backpack, attache bag direction. I'm kind of on a tight budget so acquiring tools has been slow. Thankfully I have a good friend that bought me a rotary punch so I've managed to make the two projects you see. The little bag is the Dasher from Tandy. The other is a Kindle cover I made from the Tandy 8 1/2" by 11" tooling leather. The purse was a big step for me but I had to jump in with both feet. The leather was a veg-tan belly? that was on sale at Tandy for 20 bucks. I had no template or pattern to speak of, just what i saw in my mind. I measured and cut trying to maximize the leather for the biggest bag from this cut of leather, also for gussets and straps. I actually had to borrow money for the hardware. Anyway the bag is complete and as of later today it will be given to my wife for her birthday. I know I have a long way to go. I see what I want but have to get the tools and practice to get there. But hey, practice makes perfect. Let me know what you think.

Hello everyone, I would like to present a Moleskine Notebook/Journal Cover with custom laser engraving. I use 3-4Oz vegetable tanned leather for the cover which is laser cut (profile and holes), laser engraved with a word cloud, hand stained and hand stitched. Its an effort to use technology and manual skill to produce a custom made product. We offer this on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/...k-leather-cover) Regards Khalid
