How to cut ray skin

Those little pebbles are as hard as glass I ended up using shears and will grind to shape just wondering if someone has experience with this stuff.

I found that the tool that worked best for me was serrated tin snips, the serrations hold the skin from slipping and the shears cut through it easily

Serrated shears and hide the edges under a layer of leather.
