dead blow wackometer

Just wondering if anyone had tried a dead blow hammer in place of a mallet or maule. Opinions.

I generally don't stamp but I quite like it for setting a few rivets or whatever.

I tried one many years ago, but didn't like the bounce that it introduced. Especially for stamps.
I also like the 'crispness' that I feel using a mallet or maul. My main stamping whacker are the poly-headed ones.

I use a dead blow for some larger stamps if there are too few to drag out the arbor press.

I get less bounce with a good dead blow hammer, and therefore fewer ghost imprints.
