I need new belts so I measured the pulley

was surprised to discover the pulley to be somewhat a v shape at the top is is 1/4”

at the bottom of the v it is 3/16”

so I am thinking of using a //4” v belt instead of a round belt

has anyone done this with success?

No skinny v-belt experience, but using the rough surface urethane drive belt material that you heat weld has worked well for me. If I screw one up I'm out about 50 cents..
