Members stitchbystitch Posted February 21, 2023 Members Report Posted February 21, 2023 Hi I need what I think is called the saddle hook for a singer 21w180 I need the bobbin case, hook and fulcrum. Does anyone have an idea for a source for this machine? I am in Dutchess County NY Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted February 21, 2023 Members Report Posted February 21, 2023 (edited) The saddle is a cast piece. Not going to be easy to find. Do you know if Consew or anybody copied the machine? Parts list part number is #203504. Need to see if any company copied it. glenn Edited February 21, 2023 by shoepatcher grammar Quote
Members Constabulary Posted February 22, 2023 Members Report Posted February 22, 2023 do you need just the hook or the hook + hook saddle? If just the hook I probably have an idea but you have to remove the hook from the saddle first so that I can see the bottom side. Quote
Members Quade Posted February 24, 2023 Members Report Posted February 24, 2023 Is it really bad? I'm wondering if a good cleaning and rust removal could restore most of it. https://www.amazon.com/Evapo-Rust-Original-Water-based-Non-Toxic-Biodegradable/dp/B00GRSOJSS/ I've used this. Does a fantastic job. The rust just dissolves away. Cast iron is pretty tough. I'd probably get it apart, clean and inspect to see if you really need parts. Quote

DonInReno Posted February 24, 2023 Report Posted February 24, 2023 I don’t know anything about this model, but I did see a questionable cross reference on the hook with a number of Consew and singer machines. Do you have the broken pieces? Quote
Members stitchbystitch Posted February 26, 2023 Author Members Report Posted February 26, 2023 yes i have the broken pieces it also looks like a part called a fulcrum I found for a pfaff 545 but its in Poland might have to go that route tho I got the rest of the machine loose just this part is stuck Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted February 27, 2023 Members Report Posted February 27, 2023 Fulcrum will do you no good unless you can get the saddle fixed where it is broken. That is what you screw the adjustment screw in for the fulcrum. glenn Quote
