Judge holsters

In US English, “judgment” (no “e”) is the only correct spelling. In UK English, “judgement” (with an “e”) is standard, but “judgment” is used in legal contexts.

you are correct,  
I screwed up the judgement holster when it was being stitched,  after that I lost interest in the project and was sloppy in applying the tan kote 

tan kote is what gives the holsters the shine you see

While the holster looks great, ' Judgement' has an ' E' in it , sorry to point that out.

love me some bass, those are going to be tasty i can tell from here!!! I'm going Monday morning  ice is finally gone around the edges I'm told,  No Bass this high up but its time for the Browns to spawn.

Nah, all good     Theres heaps of  Aussie ' lingo'   that would make us all sound like we're from another planet , lol 

I know what chuck would do with the fish, cook em' on an open fire .

Skin the fish, cure the skin and use it to embellish some holster

There, back on track!

Fish skin was the choice covering for sword grips in the period 1790s - 1820s or so. The skin was glued on to wood scales using fish glue then over wrapped with either silver or gold wire, depending on how rich you were

There it is again, great minds thinking alike  , but I thought the skins would be too thin , but then again I do have some carp skins in my  drawer, that I haven't used ...yet. .

I'm going fishing tomorrow and I'm toting along my fishing bow. I was thinking the same thing about tanning some Carp skins. One of the guys on here had an arm guard made from Carp skin , looked pretty cool.

Btw Carp is pretty good stuff if you get the good cold water ones and get the mud line out. We Cut it into fingers and deep fry it. A little cole slaw and some beer MMMMMMMMM,

about 50 years ago (!!!) I sat on a river bank near the town of Easkey in Eire and watched a guy 'fishing' with a long bow. He was getting leaping salmon as they jumped up river. He got fish at about 8 per ten shots. He was getting them for the local hotel and shop

Despite living at a seaside town, there is no fishing off our bit of coast. Its quite renown for there being literally no fish out there, never has been apparently. Only thing is a peculiar edible red crab but no-one catches them any more cos no-one eats them. For any fishing at all you have to go about 50 miles down the coast, or about 5 miles out to sea. The only fish I ever caught here was 3 dogfish shark years ago. I caught them as the master on a small fishing trawler threw them up to me on the pier!

Here in Oz, over in the east, Carp are an invasive pest , but no doubt good eating , and good for their skins. I have some Carp skins, I really should get my ar*** into gear and make good use of them.

We have a species called Asian carp that is invasive.  The sound or vibration of an outdoor motor makes them jump out of the water. That is very dangerous when you are boating and 24” long fish weighing 10/15 pounds are jumping in your boat. A friend and I went fishing, A carp jumped up and hit him in the face then fell on and broke the gas connector to the motor. Which left us stranded in the middle of the river with only one paddle
