Frodo Report post Posted May 17, 2023 Can plexiglass be used to make leather stamps?
fredk Report post Posted May 17, 2023 Yes, but I reckon it would need to be quite thick to with-stand either a thump from a mallet or pressure from a press

PastorBob Report post Posted May 19, 2023 I use 1/4" plexi and sandwich it between a metal plate and a thick piece of leather, then squeeze gently with an arbor press.

Yes , the stamp does best with thicker leather a 5-7 oz is ok but a 9oz brings out the detail much better lower right is my favorite border stamp combination. To me , it has a south western look
RockyAussie Report post Posted May 21, 2023 I have done a few with my little diode laser and they work pretty good. Mostly can only use black with a diode as the clear does not work at all.

I have no idea if a diode was used making this or not, but I do like the way the black looks on your stamp

Frodo Report post Posted May 29, 2023 this is going to be controversial, might even trigger some get a can of this, around $5.00 use it over your stitches in hidden areas I also use it on the liner to help hold it in place while working on it
