Members PeterJS Posted July 4, 2023 Members Report Posted July 4, 2023 Happy 4th (for those who are in the US)! This is my first post here. I recently finished a ranger belt I made for myself. This is the second belt I've ever made, so don't expect perfection. Anyway, I am looking for helpful feedback to improve my work. All the hardware is either from Weaver or Tandy. 8/9oz veg tan leather. If you're wondering about the D-Ring, I haven't seen one on a belt before, but I thought it'd be useful to clip stuff on (e.g. knives, keys, and such). Anway, enjoy! Quote

You should have put the belt on . . . and marked the belt either next to the first belt loop on the left side . . . between 1 and 2 . . . but next to 1 . . . OR . . . just before you get to the last belt loop on your right side. It should not have been attached to the tongue . . . but rather the belt itself . . . and about as high as you can get it. As you presently have it . . . it will be a total pain to get thru the belt loops . . . and will hang down in front . . . and be uncomfortable. But it is a good start. May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members GrampaJoel Posted July 5, 2023 Members Report Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) It’s your second belt. Ok. It looks very usable. I say wear it with pride, and see what you like/don’t like about it. If you continue leather working you probably will make more. I don’t care for the black thread against the natural. I would use a light colored thread. Like off white. But that’s just me. keep going and perfect your skills. Joel Edited July 5, 2023 by GrampaJoel Quote
