Members Tirediron Posted February 10, 2024 Members Report Posted February 10, 2024 Is it possible to determine the year of manufactor of a Pfaff or Consew by the serial number on the machine? Say a lookup table? Quote

Members Tirediron Posted February 11, 2024 Author Members Report Posted February 11, 2024 Excellent, just what I need! Thanks. Now if anyone knows of a similar serial number listing for Consew... Quote
Members Handstitched Posted February 12, 2024 Members Report Posted February 12, 2024 On my old Seiko, the serial number is on the right hand side next to the reverse lever. I even sent Seiko in Japan the number, as it turns out my machine is the same age as me.....I'm not telling either HS Quote

Could this really be true? Over a hundred years old and still sewing well? The machine sure doesn't look that old to me, but whadda I know?1 Quote

I use it regularly to sew patches over pockets and repair purse strap tabs. Quote
Members Tirediron Posted February 28, 2024 Author Members Report Posted February 28, 2024 (edited) So, I was cleaning my machine and thinking about the age question again. Then i noticed that there is a red plastic oil point up top and a plastic gear case cover down under...so, how could it be 1908, long before plastics? I'll appreciate any light that can be shed on this age mystery. Edited February 28, 2024 by Tirediron Quote
Members Constabulary Posted February 28, 2024 Members Report Posted February 28, 2024 check the number on your machine again - maybe you missed a digit Quote
Members Tirediron Posted February 29, 2024 Author Members Report Posted February 29, 2024 Oops. I did indeed miss a digit! 1961 is the year :*) Quote
