Members Ornyal Posted February 24, 2024 Members Report Posted February 24, 2024 Hi, I've always cut my trim allowance before stitching so that my stitch line is parallel to the edge, but I am curious, but on occasion (when I stitch too close to the edge), I'll get a wavy edge, so I'm curious, how do you do it? Members DieselTech Posted February 24, 2024 Members Report Posted February 24, 2024 (edited) I leave some extra trim length & then trim & sand my edges. I then sew up the project as the my last step. Then after its sewn I will then touch the edges up again with the sander. This is my method for wallets, belts & some other things I make. Edited February 24, 2024 by DieselTech Quote

Members Littlef Posted February 26, 2024 Members Report Posted February 26, 2024 I do the same basic thing. I learned by not leaving enough space. I set my stitches in further than they need to be, and then that gives me room to sand the edges even and bevel. (hopefully.) Quote
