Ornyal Report post Posted February 24 Hi, I've always cut my trim allowance before stitching so that my stitch line is parallel to the edge, but I am curious, but on occasion (when I stitch too close to the edge), I'll get a wavy edge, so I'm curious, how do you do it? Cheers,
DieselTech Report post Posted February 24 (edited) I leave some extra trim length & then trim & sand my edges. I then sew up the project as the my last step. Then after its sewn I will then touch the edges up again with the sander. This is my method for wallets, belts & some other things I make. Littlef Report post Posted February 26 I do the same basic thing. I learned by not leaving enough space. I set my stitches in further than they need to be, and then that gives me room to sand the edges even and bevel. (hopefully.)
